I don't want a private company to have access to my personal data. I would like a national health database that only my doctors could access to make sure they know of any allergies, previous conditions that may conflict with any treatment he may need to give me.

Fact is privacy is a non issue.

We can create a central database, thats backed up on multiple Virtual servers

The dr can then just enter the patients info, and see their entire record, so they dont misdiagnose something

Or wouldnt it be awesome if you got into an accident. The first responders could access your info, then radio to the ambulance and tell them your blood type, in case you need a transfussion

100% false again. The government currently has electronic criminal records, that is accessible by all law enforcement officers, but is kept private.

Any student knows about FAFSA. We have to submit personal information, and thats private.

Privacy isnt really an issue when it comes to IT, because there several systems to protect information.

Fact is Computerizing medical records, would led to a much more efficient system and ultimately save lives.
