Omg, i heard leona's song a couple of times on the radio and i always felt like i had a deja-vu. And then yesterday, i listened to my ipod again for the first time since a long time, cause it was broken, and i found out that this song was on it. Snow Patrol's Run is much better!!! i think this video shows the passion that people can have, to let go of their past, and be forgiven. To light up, and live your life without that burden haunting you, as if you had a choice to go back and change your actions. To live life with forgiveness, and to let go of your past so that your life can be happy again. The lesson in my opinion is that its never to late to say your sorry, and get back on track with things; its never to late to be forgiven and forgive others.

1) Leona warbles

2) Leona is way over-rated, i personally believe my pet cat could warble as much as her

3) The subelty in his voice, even if it doesn't hit any notes is the whole point in the song, it's more emotional and sad

4) This is alot catchier. Leona's was...pretty, but no where near a "wow" song like this

5) Leona sang over the epic guitar solo and changed it to piano

Exactly. She does have an amazing voice, but she takes out the softness of the song and the heartbreaking feel to it. Snow Patrol's version kind of reaches inside a person and tugges at the feelings and memories and sent shivers down their spine. This is just too vocalized and too...loud...there is no balance. Just because a voice is strong doesn't mean it's soulful. Btw, Leona Lewis cannot be comapred to Snow Patrol. Not in a rational universe. :3

I actually saw leona's version before i saw snow patrols an im not sure which one i prefer, i mean i definitely prefer the beginning from snow patrol but the last 2 minutes in leona's version is simply amazing. snow patrols version is alot more full, instrument wise. rock singing thrives on the imperfctions of its singers and live performers in general. As a rule of thump the polished pop singers are technically superior but often lack 'soul'. the passing of the dagger and flame picture- illumination for the man, him seeing the bad things he might have done, represented by the dagger, passing that on again to someone else, and taking away a piece of light, hope. The watch from the clown- awesome... time laughing him, mocking him. After seeing the dead corpse and ignoring it, him blocking out the fear of death. But then he is attracted to the begiining of life- the pregnant woman. Face in the sky- always watching over him. xx

I think this is a very beautiful video. I think that match idea signifies the passing of a torch, in a sense, with the idea of passing on hope and bad luck- the already used match given to the second man. The woman writing on the guy's hand... an invisible number, something that might not be passed on. Not seeing his eyes in the reflection of a dagger- not seeing himself properly before death. xx i'll comment again.

Same as you can't go on a song and say guitar is everything.

It's about making thing go in harmony, and to fit the lyrics, and what it is about.

I personally love Snow Patrol's version a lot more because it has the right voice for the theme, and the instrumental part is MUCH better.

Leona is just like every other pop artist. Horrible mixes of instrument, lyrics, and voice.

Leona only has the chorus as a good part, but it can't beat Snow Patrol's characteristics.

One thing about the video: I believe it should have more movement... speed, action... you know what I mean. :)

Personally I think the song is supposed to be gentle and soft, even sad.

It's not meant to have speed nor action, since obviously its about the fact that they are being separated. Most likely by distance.

And the "Run" is probably taken from the part where it says "and we'll run for our lives", as well as "we'll make it anywhere" part, which would probably suggest that they run away.

Or else the title could ofcourse also mean that "I won't run away". ^^

Oh, this was awesome, especially for hearing this song for the first song. This vid has so much symbolism to it... I loved it.. I think part of it was that his tears made the fire go out, because he loved that one girl. And then the watch was to show that his time was up... Oh wow. It is so powerful. 87yngveovr, this is gorgeous. I wish I knew why it's gorgeous... but I think its the atmosphere that the song and the black&white/snow/etc. create. My only guess at an interpretation is that 'the runner' saved these people somehow, and that he saved them just in time by sacrificing himself. I've even got the glimmer of a suspicion that he had to kill himself / he had to die because he couldn't save that one guy, the one who didn't respond. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video.
