In Waziristan, the issue is not stealing. Everyone knows that in the tribal region there is a culture of people who call themselves Muslim and it is certainly not all Islam and most of us say it goes against Islam. The terrorism thing where you fight the central government which has been formed by Muslims goes against Islam. In Islam, rebellion is discouraged if not prohibited. In the tribal region you have "Muslims" who kill little girls for going to school. Islam commands us to be literate.

you asked me what parts of pakistani culture are unIslamic. I did not say Pakistan is wrong for not being perfect. The point is Pakistani culture is no better than American culture. Bigotry is to think your culture is better than anyone else's. Biryani the clothes and the language do not go against Islam in a vacuum as if they are haraam. They go against Islam when people use Pakistani culture as a tool to say that makes them better Muslims or for them to act that way when only Allah knows.

It's true parents ruin their kids by teaching them a culture which is unislamic and often unjust. As a small child I gave up Islam because of the falsehoods my dad told me but after a lot of study I went back to it. He still refuses to believe that he is wrong though!

The problem is Muslims who want to maintain Pakistani Muslims who want to maintain Pakistani culture and use the masjid to try to maintain their cultures from back home. It's futile and the kids are going to be Americans. But we Muslims are creating a new animal and we have to embrace our roles and pioneers instead of fixating on looking back. We are creating American Muslims. We all mix culture and religion. The problem is when we want to force a foreign culture and call it religion

you are sort of asking me to bash Pakistanis based on your implied statement that Pakistani culture is totally 100% Islamic. That is an arrogance that leads to the prejudice. Imagine: everything the Sahaba did was not Islam nor fard for us. Prophet Muhammad, was not a Pakistani, yet here is an assumption that somehow you are even more Muslim than the Sahaba. There are women who don't cover, Muslims who bomb masajid and Muslims who steal in Pakistan,

Briani is not Islam, Shalawar Kamez is not Islam. The clothes of Pakistan are not the clothes that a Muslim MUST wear. Urdu is not the language of Islam. There are many good Pakistanis. But your culture is NOT Islam. Your food clothes and language are not Islam. They are things you grew up with that do not violate Islam and you guys know most of that stuff does not work in the West, so you bring to the masjid, shoving it on everyone and then hide the same things when you leave the parking lot.

I didn't say anything of the sort. Please don't accuse me of saying that I'm better Muslim than the Sahaba. Stealing is not a part of any culture. Just because people do that doesn't mean that is their culture. Same with blowing up masjids. There are also women who don't cover up in Arabia. The bottom line is that culture is only an issue for Muslims when it goes against Islam. Biryani, traditional Pakistani clothes and language don't go against Islam.

i am not saying you especially. You are here watching Dr. Dirks so you are a pretty sharp person, where ever you come from. Stealing is a part of some cultures. I am African American. There are stereotypes about the ghetto and we hate to say them, but who is going walking late at night in the Boggie Down Bronks? There is an element of lawlessness in African American culture. It is not politically correct to say so, but it's there. In Pakistan, you have Waziristan.

@XAbdr I agree with your comment about no culture being better than the other. But it's not right to say that stealing is an element of culture. Even lying isn't. It may be true that stealing is common among African-Americans (I'm not sure of that to be honest) but it's not a part of their culture. It's just a matter of circumstances. Some people take advantage of that though.

We have to learn to practice AMERICAN Islam. The fact is, our kids, who are serious about religion will be the ones who move this ball down the field. I converted when I was 37 years old. I tell my kid, "I can't tell you how to be a Muslim in high school." Because I was never a Muslim in high school. I can't tell my kid how to be a sports fanatic and a Muslim because I was a Christian sports fanatic. So we have to guide the next generation extremely conscious that they are bigger pioneers

I love you brother Eddie and Dr. Dirks. His book on Ibraheem is on my top shelf. I have a small point of disagreement. We all have culture. It is impossible not to have a culture. You can have no religion. Certainly there are people who don't have Islam. But there is no group that practices Islam in a vacuum. In fact, this idea of a "pure Islam" is where the prejudice comes from. The people from the old country believe they are transmitting pure religion.

The only true source of islam is the Quran, and nothing but the Quran, Islam needs a reformation, one that will stand up for the true teachings of Muhammed (pbuh) not the ones fabricated by persian zorostranians ! -__- Meaning, that Muslims need to stand up against the so called "sahih" rulings of Bukhari , Trimizi.. ect.. the corruption goes beyond teaching kids not to draw a star with a circle, it goes beyond just silly fairytales..

the subject of hadith is much more complicated than you think, and such simple comparisons dont cut it

your ignoring the sahaba which are the same people that organized the ayats of quran

yes ALLAH preserves it, but it was the sahaba that compacted in the order we have today

so if you ignore that these were the same people who narrated hadith and created a science of it, theres a problem

second of all one criticism of hadith is if it contradicts the quran its automatically rejected

and also the whole thing about the pentagram and star is not even in hadith(the brother was talking about cultural faiytales not hadith), maybe if you read hadith more you would have easily known that, hadith is not full of a bunch of fairytales

theres miracles is hadith just like there is in the quran this show was about culture vs islam, not islam vs. hadith

Muslim children SHOULD NOT BE DIRECTED TO ACCEPT AMERICAN CULTURE. how can you tell kids to accept a national identity where the nation is killing muslims all over the world spreading hate against islam etc. I agree they shouldnt accept any nationality but dont accept being american just because you live their. If a person stuck to the basics and priorities he could get on with life just fine and normal without any problems. I think that this has been on of the tricks of Shayton to make this religion seem strange and to difficult. The brother made some good point Jzk.
