I want to buy one ASAP but would like to see more of it's functionality from a real guitar player like Andy. Something more than put your pedals here and use... Something that it's not explained in the TC website demoes either.
say, can this thing swich channels on your amp as well? or what about compatibility with an effects loop? might do this with my Fender Blues Deluxe....
o and btw- fuzzy goodness is always welcome in demos! :)
what sound different between g-system and g-major2 ? I know that G-major2 is all annolog , how about this G-system ?? digital or annolog ??? , And this have 5 loops , so we only can add more 5 stomebox like DIST / OD??
I bet Andy's pedalboard is HUGE lol. He plays a little bit over pretty much everything. I think the only thing I haven't heard is a harmonic or hungarian minor solo. That would be so cool lol.
Love it when Andy kicks in the Centaur and the Rat together. Such a brilliant tone.
And Fuzz Factory is perfectly fine by me, and really it's like handling any fuzz. It's all about how you EQ it. Big Muffs don't really come alive until you start properly getting the amp into serious overdriven territory. Then from here, feel free to adjust it how you wish. I'd personally choose a fuzz over any distortion box any day. Fuzz has a little bit more character to it IMO. Hail the fuzz! :)
Thanks Andy! I've been waiting for some good videos on the g-system since I'm thinking of switching to this setup. It looks like you are you going directly into the front of the amp. Do you plan on showing a 4 cable method setup with the mod/delay effects in the amps loop with the dirt pedals out front? Theoretically you'd notice a tonal quality difference... do you?
I'm traditionally against digital multieffects floor units for guitar, but this one really seems to do it right. I was always finding that they didn't integrate with pedals well. TC has done a great job here however of bringing their rack effects into pedalboard owner's hands.
The Fuzz Factory freaks out if it receives a buffered signal, and generally if it doesn't "see" your pickups immediately after them. It sounds a bit uncomfortable in that loop.
How does the TC handle with amp with no effect loops? is there a big difference running it not into a effects loops? My Anderson amps don't have them and I run my Rockbox and Analogman just like the old school way.
I build fuzz pedals for a living and I dislike the fuzz factory also...its great for messing around with noises in your room or something but its hard to get a great fuzz sound out of it in my opinion.
@311allmixedup - The owner's manual (also on ZVex's site) shows you where to put the knobs for the classic Germanium fuzz tones. It ain't that hard, and it sounds mighty fine in our opinion.
@Guitarisforgrins And some people love it for the very same reasons. Glorious noise instead of normal, boring sounds. So different strokes for different folks.
I dunno... I like some digital gear, but never been a fan of all in one boxes. I'd rather pay 1,000 bucks on 3-4 pedals that each do 1 thing REALLY well, than on one pedal that does hundreds of things. It's the same principle I apply to recording... I'd rather pay 1,000 dollars for a really nice mic pre instead of 1,000 for an OK 8 channel mic pre.
@sweetness11313 All he's showing you (so far) are the external loops. Most users put their dirt boxes there b/c there's no distortion in the G-syst. G-systems are made for live gigs. You can set up every tune you do as a preset and bang them 1,2,3,4 etc. Go to their site- check out the manual... there are lots of other vids around too. If you are OK with the delay and mod sounds.. it's the perfect live controller. Also - guts come out from under and you can use those in your rack.
I'm not convinced the sound still is not real ...

The compression is killer on the G System. Adding some to any of those pedals will make them sing with sustain.

Can I channel switch with EVH III? (3 channel)
The EVH III footswitch uses a midi cable not a 1/4 jack.

@machinegunguitar
Sure you can ! I switch my Mesa Boogie Roadster with it (4 channel).
raconei 1 year ago
@raconei Do you use your midi footswitch or the 1/4 ext switch?
If you use your midi cable where do yo plug it in? Thank for the reply. This helps me.
machinegunguitar 1 year ago
@machinegunguitar
Well I use 2 1/2 cables which run into the channel selection system of the Mesa.
But you have 2 Midi plugs into the G-System, so you can select your channel by midi. ;)
