Africa is a continent comprised of a billion+ people; 54 countries having numerous indigenous tribes and African peoples with skin complexions from albino to ebony. Any analysis of the problems of the continent must focus on the individual countries; indigenous peoples and the political-socio-economic problems they face. It is a serious mistake to speak in terms of the continent and not in terms of the individual countries and peoples within these countries. One shoe does not fit all!
Maybe because that is where the battle is. I think Motherland is pretty political. And word is Muslim communities didnt support the products post 911. So they evolved 2 reach a wider audience and audience that doesnt copy and rapidshare all their hard work.
why is babykiller banda leba Zenawi in this film? And that opportunistic virus the royal mercenary Mulugeta! Who chose these animals to be in a film about African problems? THEY ARE THE PROBLEM! Shame on you OwenalikShehada!! Plz go to your splicing room at once and expunge these servants of evil from your film. no doubt we will delete them from our destiny that they aim to destroy! cant you see them sucking our blood, killing our freedom and peace? meles is maiming OUR MOTHERLAND!

Always blame the white man for the under-developed, backward criminal ways of Africa. I say build a big wall around the place and watch. They have fertile land, minerals, oil etc- funny how they fail to make it work for them. Blacks cannot survive without being shown how to. Dubai is dry, desert. All they have is oil and look how rich they are, very little crime. Nigeria has the same precious reserve, look at them, ruled by militants, under developed, low education- fucking idiots
What you refer to as Nigeria did not develop naturally because Europeans created it, Your post demonstrates why you should take a look at the film. Nigeria was created by Europeans as a site to exploit. The people living in that area were not united but were just suddenly called Nigerians and made subjects of Europeans. It would be like Germany coming into the US and uniting the US South and Mexico and calling Mexico-Grande! More than likely there would be decades of dicsord.
Excellent stuff. Now whats your excuse for Etheopia, Mozambique, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sudan and every other under developed African Country. Not all of the were colonised however most of them remain in a deplorable state, why?????
Actually, all of Africa, except for Ethiopia was colonized. Colonization played a big part in the continents underdevelopment. True, things could get better more quickly today if elites in this "nations" were not greedy and would stop wasting resources. But elites in all nations do that. It is just that Europe made its riches earlier at the Africans expense. So we do not notice European waste as much. Plus, the elites in these nations are connected to the European elite anyway.
On colonization. I reallt think you should watch the film; it could change your mind. For example, you mention Mozambique as a noncolonized area. They speak Portuguese because they were a colony. In Ghana they speak English! These are not native languages but those of their colonizers.
@Greggybread yes, you can say that but do you know in 1935 Mussolini attacked Ethiopian in revenge of 1896. Ethiopia was recovered and doing very well but they said before they are succeeding we better destroyed them and burnt ancient library full ancient Scripture and looted.
Until the mental slavery that exists in our minds is gone our children in my opinion cannot be allowed to be exposed to media, art, clothing or literature from the oppressor. We must immerse our children in our rich culture and history to protect their minds from being destroyed. Once pride is once again at the root of our soul we can then equally be exposed to everything as human beings, but Africans and their descent are not there yet. This is not a racist opinion it is simply a reality.
The media has poisoned both whites and blacks and that is a fact. The family structure as a whole is being destroyed and the morals of the pasts are fading. The younger generations of this country do not realize the hardships of there forefathers black and white they just want something for free.
everyone has an opinion of their own but i realy think that Meles Zenawi is and Excelent leader even though people hate on him but hey people use to hate on Jesus...so it does not realy surprise me if people do hate on him...but then again...we are all different and the way we all think is different...one love and oh yea shout out to Profesor Asrat...can't waite to see this movie(Trailer)(documentery) ;)
Tigrigna, you are preposterous to take an analogy from Jesus and stick it to Meles. you are wrong. He has weaknesses and stregthes as most leaders, but his weaknesses outweigh his strengthes. He knows how to improvise smart answeres, and I judge men by their actions rather than by what they preach, or which part of the country they came from. You probably sympathize with him because he is form your ethnicity and that is pity.
your lack of knowledge personifies your ignorance my brother. Maybe you need to take a look at my comment once more. And as far as his weaknesses goes Sometimes our greatest strength come from our weakness; BTW as far as me sympathizing with Meles because of being in the same ethnicity, am sure you make the same assumption to anyone that gives a good comment about him but you know what the harder you fight to hold on to that type of assumption, the more likely that you will never let go of it.
I really wish people would stop over simplifying or re-writing history to support their present day politics. "The first people who crossed a river were African..." well at that point all human ancestry was in Africa, so where the hell is the distinction. "First University was in Africa" o.k might have been in Alexandria, but was a Ptolemic Greek colony...clue's in the name! This movie sounds like terrible self glorification, in the face of History
The Belgians.... they gave certain privelages to those who agreed to betray their own people so to make them more money... causing a savage divide which had unthinkable effects...
this by the way is part of the history that seems to strangely get left out in european media...
If the African, the First Man, fail to evolve, advance & manifest the infinite potential created in him at the beginning of the human race, then FOR A TIME (& only for a relatively short time) he's going to be overtaken, even by the beasts, by the Neanderthal beasts!
The history of Egypt is instructive for a number of reasons.
Over the many thousands of years, Egyptian societies entered periods of being 'awake' to profound knowledge, & stretches of being 'asleep'
