Thanks so much for posting this! I have taken apart traditional double hung wooden windows with sash weights, but could not figure out how these came apart. With the help of the video, I was able to figure out how to disassemble, repair, and lubricate my broken (and very noisy) windows and get them working smoothly and like brand new again!
Yesterday I tried for 30 minutes to fix a window. Got a smashed finger. Today I found this. Watched it three times. Fixed window in three minutes. Thanks for the post.
So I wake up to "When are you going to fix the window like you said you would?" Jeesh. So I get up to get the misses out of my ear for the day. I was this close to calling someone over to fix it then I found this video. It took me a minute or two to figure out the type of window I had. I narrowed it down and found this. Great help. Window is fixed, wife is happy and I can go back to my fun. Thanks.
There are no clips on my windows, but there are slotted holes where the clips probably go. Is there a way to do that job without the clips, or are the clips standard and if so, where can I get some? Thanks, Paul
It is very difficult to perform this function without the take out clips. You will be best served to replace the missing clips. Please see our video "Replacing the take out clips in a vinyl window" for this process.
You may get replacement parts by contacting AMSCO Windows.
