Really nice tune. B flat is not an easy key to play in. I'm working on this tune and find the G string fingering challenging. Did you learn this from Chirps Smith?
I learned it from a friend but he bowed it very differently (very different style). So, I just learned the tune (notes) and then did more southern old-time bowing.
Yes, it is played in standard tuning GDAE. It also sounds great played in the key of F. It's the same fingering, just move it all up one string. Playing it in F, because it's higher, sounds peppier for dances.
