  • OMG SIGUR RÓS!!

  • i recognise every single image from planet earth

  • the music always brings out emotions for trailers such as these :) I love this song almost as much as I love Earth.

  • god i love sigur rós

  • not hd :(

  • 1:25 what's the name of that song?

  • God I love this planet! :)

  • Haha, I like how there was actually animals, literally, hopping in the water around 1:44 when Jónsi was singing "Hoppipolla".

    Kinda perfectly sequenced lol.

  • 0:33.....wow, that was amazing!!!!

  • all of this footage is taken from the bbc documentary planety earth. it just shows how much effeot they put into making tv programmes, when producers come along and use them as feature films!

  • This totally sucks. You're better off watching planet earth.

  • I can't wait for Disney's Oceans to come out!!!!!!

  • 2010 earth day their is going to a movie by disney nature andits going to be about the 5 oceans :) i cant what but any way when you see it the week that it comes out disney donate to some i forgot what though lol :) :) :p CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL

  • PERFECT SONG to use for these amazing shows! ahh so good

  • AMAZING!

  • I love love love Sigur Ros!!

  • Love Sigur Ros, Hoppipolla. :)

  • I don't get it. Is this just the American-licensed version of "Planet Earth"?

  • Agreed, looked very similar.. recognized at least 60 % of the frames to be from BBC

  • Probably because BBC, Greenlight Media, and the Discovery Channel produced this.

  • @Pringlulz No, it's not Planet Earth. It uses some of the same footage, but it has a lot of footage not found in Planet Earth.

  • @Pringlulz yes it is....i actually watched this and they had the same exact clips

  • dude i lold when the bird jumped off... i was like epic fail

  • i know the second song, but whats the first instrumental?

  • what is the second song called at 1.00 ?

  • read the discription buddy

  • Sigur Ros, Hoppípolla

  • Hoppipolla - Sigur Ros... Great Song.

  • WTF! This is BBCs Planet Earth

  • watched this the other day and was very dissapointed!! planet earth rehash - planet earth is 10 times better solely due to Sir David Attenborough's narration!

  • This song is amazing. Sigur Ros is the best band there is. Ever. However, Disney cut out the best parts. It's not good unless its the 4:37 version. This band is untouchable.

  • this movie was absolutley amazing!!!!!1

  • Does anyone know if the soundtrack to the movie (not the show--I know the show one is out already) has been released? B/c I loved the music from the show, but the music from the movie was like, 10x even more epic than it was in the show...

  • i love this movie so much, it's just so amazing to watch

  • WTF iiS DAT AT 0:56????

    DAT STUFF SCARED ME!

DO ANYBODii KNO3 WHAT iiT iiS????

  • its a bird, idk what its called. don't be scared. it does that to attract females. thats what it said in the movie.

  • lol its called Bird of Paradise..

  • the planet earth rip off accusations are weak, wether or not is true is besides the point. Watching it on the big screen is a whole different experience. I dont care if I knew it was ripped off I would still go see it just for the experience that NO dvd set will ever compare to.

  • I really hope this isnt Global Warming propaganda... and if you still believe in global warming, go look at the video i posted on my channel, it might change your opinion.

  • Forget this, just get BBC Planet Earth. Its the same thing.

  • only better

  • It is, but it is so much more EPIC on the big screen. TRUST me. It's like...I cannot even begin to describe how amazing it is to watch that brilliant cinematography on a gigantic screen. AMAZING.

  • This truly sucks. So, it's footage from Planet Earth, with a different narrator, saying the same things. überphail

Watch Planet Earth and actually learn something. They cover this (with the same info and words), and much more.

  • ...but it's so much more amazing on the big screen...I mean, I loved the show, but seeing the footage in a HUGE way with the sounds and music blaring at you in total darkness...I cannot bring myself to fully describe what that was like. Brought chills to my spine.

  • I watch Planet Earth on HDDVD on my friends HD projector so i get that fealing already, and this just seems like a condensed version of Planet Earth

  • Oh, well, I have a tiny TV LOL xD

  • F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!

  • Oh! That duck! Learning to flye!!!!

  • Oh, Sigur Ros! The places you get into!

  • sigur ros!!!!!! awesome!!!!!! yeah!!!!!

  • i loved the movie... :D

  • Total rip off... I have the BluRay version of the BBC series... and was SO shocked yesterday that it was all of the footage from the series. NOTHING NEW! All they did was reorganize the order of the video. Sad to see this from Disney...

  • the song on the trailer is hoppipolla by sigur ros...check them out too

  • omg love them to death. i hope they use "hoppipolla" in the actual movie.

  • is it just me or did they just steal the opening logo and most of the shots from the planet earth series..beautiful but lifted from an amazing 5 disc series that has been out for quite some time now.

  • is it me or are you just completely ignorant and did not see the fact they advertised it is a Disney + Discovery + BBC production?

  • Yes, yes they did.

If you compare the two, they use the same script too.

  • What an awesome creation. Too bad we confuse the kid's after we show them such an amazing movie and tell them it is the result of evolution, or a big bang. That is truley sad. I am not a over zealous religious type, but wow, what an amzing creation.

  • Too bad you need a decent science education.

  • Too bad you cant formulate an intelligent sentence. You are probably one of those evolution idiots that spend the whole of their day trying to disprove creation. It is like trying to disprove the existence of air.

And, oh, by the way moron, I had a decent science education. And the only reason I may even entertain the idea of evolution is because of monkeys like you.

    Replies not necessary. You're done.

  • It is like trying to disprove the existance of air?

What an utterly ridiculous thing to say, at least the air can be felt and proven.

I doubt you can even make a decent argument against a scientific theory, based on your hit and run comment.

  • Ok, dippy, I told you I wouldnt reply to you, But how can I resist. You say my comment is hit and run, what about your asinine comment that got the whole thing started.

Please, let this be all, but if you must have the last word go ahead, hit me one more time.

There is no reason to discuss science with an idiot like you. You will never believe in the idea of intelligent design, nor will I ever even consider evolution. My God, I hpope you are not a teacher, Please let it not be so. Tool

  • Cya.

  • You and the other guy are immature. Please give each other your phone number and let us enjoy the trailer of a DISNEY movie.

  • Cool, now you are imature, welcome aboard!

  • Uhh, freedom of speech/expression.

    Welcome to the internet.

  • Stuhrdw, what a great way of putting it! Thanks for posting.

    Good for you!

  • I saw this in my class about 2 months ago, i don't understand how my teacher got the dvd.

  • he/she probably had planet earth, the like 5 disk series. its absolutely amazing, and features a lot of the same footage as in this trailer.

  • !Disney BBC y Discovery = Education & quality entertainment.!

Great photography, excellent music and continues education from the Series Planet Earth, plus if you go the first week theyll plan a tree on your name so, ! let's do our contribution.!

  • I'm going to watch this movie on tuesday w/ my school for a trip :D

  • unless you're 12 bother bother with this, it's almost entirely made of footage taken from the BBC's planet earth that goes into a lot more detail and doesn't describe the elephants epic migration as "the family's first road trip". Don't get my wrong it's great that for getting kids into nature films but that pretty much all it's good for.

  • does anyone know what the name of the bird with the strange face looking is called he looks like um big head small body and blue eyes with blue mouth if u know please send me a reply thanks ^^

  • Bird of Paradise

  • thats Planet Earth

  • Discovery's Planet Earth was extremely well done and what you are seeing is basically a redo of that. While I am a fan of putting it on the big screen, Disney slapping their name and branding all over it disgusts me.

  • Wait.... Planet Earth is from Discovery or BBC?

  • i think bbc

  • it's discovery

  • it's defiantly BBC, I'm English, I watched it. It was aired in America on discovery a year after it's British release

  • its from BBC only BBC can do something as amazing as Planet Earth. Discovery sucks at making good nature shows.

  • i saw all this footage from planet earth but i never grow tired of it..even when i watched planet earth i wished i would be able to see it on the big screen so i have no problem with disney repackaging it whats so ever...it beats all the other movies that have come out

  • Just so you know, this film is made from footage taken directly from the documentary series produced by BBC called 'Planet Earth'. So Disney buys the rights to the footage, re-edits the footage, and get James Earl Jones to narrate. This all stated, hopefully a bunch of the ticket sales go to fund nature preservation. I guess this isn't a complete waste of $ if you want to get your kids excited about Earth Day, and instill them with some awe that might not be relayed through the tv at home.

  • That duck rules. Hands down.

  • I know! It's amazing, the natural instincts all these animals have. I mean imagine being born living a couple weeks and then jumping from the Empire State Building! haha

  • This footage was fantastic to watch on the big screen.

  • SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT!, yeahhhhhhh!!

  • whats the song called? on 1:04?

  • Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros

  • read discription bar. The guy below is wrong

  • seeing it this sunday it looks awesome. the commercial it looks AWESOME

  • Just saw it. IT'S FANTASTIC. :)

  • i wanna watch dat :D

i mite watch it on saturday wit my friends frm school.

    SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT!

    SAVE POLAR BEARS! & PENGUINS!

  • what happened to the duck :O does he live :(!!!??

  • what is that black bird with the giant blue face called????

  • Its called a superb bird of paradise. All Disney Earth is is a bunch of clips from the series Planet Earth. I suggest you go buy that series. You can get it from costco for like 52 bucks but it is awesome. O, and I also suggest watchin it high.

  • bird of paradise i think

  • thiis iz a awesome vid! i just laugh and laugh at that weird bird with a blue face..err...yh. XD

  • I'm watching this movie with everyone in my school taking a geography course right now on Friday in theatres !

    I can't wait !

  • I can't wait to see this. What a awsome movie.

  • i am soooooo going to see that this wednesday!

  • hahaha thats a lot of trees

    but trees are good!

    =>>>

  • Disney said they would plant a tree for every movie ticket sold. I think thats a great idea :)

  • That's what's getting me to see it tomorrow.

  • what is that black animal 56 seconds in to the video

  • its a bird courting. I think from New Guinea.

  • Well there was a bird and then there was some flat black panel with this neon blue :() looking thing, but horizontal. Was that another bird? It didn't look like it to me O.o

  • what is the song at 1:06?

  • hmm yeah ive seen all this on Planet Earth...

  • I love the music

  • i have the entire planet earth case and this trailer is everything i've already seen in the discovery channels planet earth...

  • wow! I might want to watch this movie!

  • sorry for being the pessimist here but isn't this basically planet earth?

(i do know bbc was in on this, btw)

  • Yeah it is, but there's a storyline incorporated into the movie for the 'three familys' they showed in the trailer.

Alastair Fothergill is the co-director of Earth, he was also the executive producer for Planet Earth.

  • thats cause disney owns that series

  • this movie will be amazing..Sigur Ros makes it epic..

Another good great doc is FLOW (for the love of water)..spread the word !!!!

watch it on youtube or sundance channel

  • As soon I saw the trailer I knew the song was from Sigur Ros, God fucking dammit how I love that band

  • hoppipolla <3333333

  • I don't really like Disney but this movie I have to see! I think it is cool that Disney is actually taking the time to film mother nature for all these little spoiled kids can finally see what life is outside of their IM and MTV and texting! And how our world is changing and they finally need to see that! because if they don't see that now they will be screwed in the future when they have to deal with it! All the global warming and shit

  • Actually, all of these scenes were first produced by the BBC Natural History Unit (co-produced by the Discovery Channel and others) for a television series called "Planet Earth", first broadcast on BBC One in 2006. This is basically the "spin-off" film version - the US version of the film, released in conjunction with Disneynature.

  • lol :)

  • nice. would be better with sir david attenborough doing it tbh ftw lol

  • i'm goin to go, but yeah this definitely is just parts of Planet Earth it seems. probably just filmed these three families closely while they were filming that and are just now adding it.

  • In the commercial, they say that when you buy a ticket, Disney will plant a tree in your honor. They forgot to tell you for everyone who DOESN'T buy a ticket, they'll cut one down!

  • ahhh james earl jones!

  • wat waz datt blue and black bird,if dattz even a bird? I don't knoe wat datt waz

  • I am so taking my girlfriend to see this for her B-day

  • You could also just rent it today instead. It's just a chopped up version of Planet Earth.

  • thats where your wrong the movie is based on three animal familys and the follow them around

  • I'm taking my three year old to this on opening night. Very excited as this will be his first time ever seeing a movie at the theatre. I'm SO happy that this movie will be the first he ever sees! :D

  • what about the instrumental song at the very beginning?? what is that one called?

  • i was wondering the same thing...its beautiful

  • Love & Loss by Two Steps From Hell.

  • i was looking for the song title. thank you.

this commercial is beautiful i really want to see the movie.

  • This is truly going to be the best Disney movie EVER! :)

  • does anybody know where i can find the TV commercial? I'm trying to find the song on that one.

  • They show it on Disney channel,

    but its practically the same.

    the song here is

    sigur ros-hoppipolla

  • It Looks so beautiful<3

Does anyone know who sings that song.

    Its so over whelming,

    Its amazing

  • Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros

  • Thank You!

  • It's Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros :)

  • what is the name of the song that starts at 1:05

  • Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros

  • Mammals and birds...mammals and birds and MORE mammals and birds.... WHERE ARE THE REPTILES???????

  • Just in case you didn't know. Birds are reptiles scientifically.

  • I second that.

  • no their not.... there a totaly different class

  • what? are you about to say they are PHYLUM aves? because PHYLUM aves does not exist anymore. birds fall under phylum reptilia and class aves..want to look that up?more specifically birds are related to lizards, snakes and alligators because they lay amniotic eggs.

  • this will be awesome in IMAX!

  • i love it

    it made me cry(:

  • they took this from planet earth

  • i cry whenever the little baby ducky flies outta the tree.

lol.. i know its gay but i am always crying):

    0:55

  • the music is by sigur ros

    the song is called hoppipolla

    off of the album takk

  • what is the music in the background called???

  • Comment removed

  • 1) It gives credit to the BBC at the beginning of the trailer

    2) That "cheesy" narrator is James Earl Jones, arguably one of the most recognizable voices on the planet.

  • the more I think about this the more it angers me.

  • I saw this traillor in the theatres last night. They didnt give credit to BBC during it. I was so angry. All of the footage is from BBC's planet earth. Except they add a cheesy narator that would never do justice to Sir David Attenborough. Of course Disney is trying to cash in on this, by putting the BBC footage in theatres in their little "follow the 3 families". Do yourself a favour and see the real thing. Go out and buy Planet Earth.

  • Cheesy narrator? Yeah, because James Earl Jones is totally a cheesy narrator.

  • I think he sounds cheesy. And he's not a scientist. Just a voice from a ton of other hollywood movies.

  • OMG i cant wait 2 c this movie, i love wild life and animals, BABY ANIMALS are the ones that makes our earth so beautiful, look at the baby cub polar bear, duck, the whale and the baby elephant, CAN THEY EVER GET CUTTER THAN THAT, and the moms are so protective ♥

  • What is the music used in this trailer? It reminds me of one of Sigur Ros' songs, but I don't think it is.

  • it is sigur ros

  • im so excited for this to come out!! i really wannna see it

  • What's the name of the bird :55 seconds in?

  • Looks a lot like an Adelie Penguin.

  • I'm sorry, I meant the creature after the penguins, starts at :56 actually.

  • Consider the environment before producing that kind of commercial movies.

  • While watching this trailer, think to yourself, 'All of this will be gone someday.'

  • a few of these shots were already featured in Planet Earth

why make a movie out of the miniseries, especially if it uses the same shots?
