  • 1 way to lower energy prices. Vote this crooked bastard out of office.

  • .... i think i actually got a tear from that speech.... vote Yes!

  • Ryan and the rest of the right wing are just tools for the wealthy elite! Everyone of these niggers voted against progressive health care or extending unemployment benefits . They exist for the sole purpose of enriching the wealthy elite at the expense of the middle class! What have they done for you lately?

  • take the oil company and gas stations profits and we will get cheap gas.

  • While Obama' plays silly games, Russia begins drilling in the GOM off the coast of Cuba, China is buying into huge Brazilian and Argentinian plays...and both countries are buying up independent oil companies right and left to get their hands on any and all acreage they can. But that's okay. I'm sure the greenies are going to come up with a way to power an airliner with solar energy any day now.

  • or another solution-

Create another alternative enrgy solution- to eas gas prices.

    u dumb rednecks republicans

  • R&D doesn't respond to demand. Just because I want a flying unicorn doesn't mean I can research one.

  • well first the dems haven't and were you not listening, he specifically said we can do this and invest that money in researching another alternative energy solution

  • See NWO Solution

  • We need to drill why? So we can have cheap gas to put in all those cars coming off the assembly line at GM in Janesville in your district? Oh, that's right, GM in Janesville has been shut down causing your district to be one of the most depressed with the highest unemployment numbers in the nation.....and what have you done mr congressman to help this situation? Nothing, but try to further your career in Washington. Thanks Paul

  • This guy is AWESOME!

  • he is my rep. for my district in janesville wi

  • The YouTube poster "KarrensMan69" is a mutiple-sockpuppet peddling YouTube fraud.

He also goes by the pseudonym "aluminumhelmet"

Observe as he shows up here with six to twelve accounts attempting to vote down my reply so that it will disappear from the thread.

Are all con-servatives insecure dorks perpetrating the fraud, or just the ones that run to be on TV?

  • You're an idiot, Global Warming is a scam! co2 is essential for life on this planet... do some research jackass... I bet you still drive dont you? Fucking hypocrit.

  • Global warming has been rocorded on other planets. It has to do with natural solar cycles. We should drill paying $4per gallon is going to destoy the economy. Thank God gas has gone down in price recently.

  • You sound like a statist who is more worried about Mr. Caribou in ANWR than you are our own energy independence and security. Sad.

  • *claps*

  • This guy and Ron Paul are awesome, and very well spoken. I know Paul Ryan has family obligations, but he would be an awesome choice in 2012 imo, even though its so early. Hes very conservative, and isnt afraid to speak his mind and do whats right instead of going with the usually flow.

  • The Ryans will support Paul all the way. Even the liberal ones.

  • no kidding!

The guy in my district is a republican, jim sensenbrenner, is horrible. ANd theres this other guy who is a dem thats like 88

  • David Obey?

  • I think there are several young Republicans who will make an impact within taking back the house and senate in 2 years and taking back the white house in 4 years. Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, Adam Putnam, Bobby Jindal and several others are all great up and coming young Republicans.

  • I like this guy. And yes, I'd vote for him in 2012. He, Palin, and Jindal are our future.

  • I live in wisconsin, so i hear quite a bit about this guy. He is the future of the GOP. He has alot of expirence and youth he can bring to washington. hes been in congress since he was 23. He will be our next great president.

  • Could he topple your incompetent governor in 2 yrs? I know he wants to challenge Boehner for House Minority Leader.

  • I sure hope so, doyle probably the worst governor that our tate has seen. Our little state is in a 5 billion dollar deficit. He basically tried obama's tax plan with our state and its failing miserably. Companies cant afford to stay in wisconsin, so they're leaving. Its sad.

Paul Ryan's got the look, and he's a great speaker. I hope he runs in 2012 or 2016.

  • He can probably speak without a teleprompter, has experience and is very popular in very blue Wisconsin, when was the last time Wisconsin had a Republican governor.

  • Tommy Thompson, he was actually the governor be4 doyle. He could really speak. Bush Jr. gave him a job in his cabinet, H&H services i believe. He was great though, his welfare system was great. I believe quite a few states have adopted it.

But Wisconsin is very liberal, we have gone GOP in an election since Reagan, and he barely won.

Both of our do nothing liberal senators have been in wisconsin for years though.

Paul Ryan won by 30% in his district where obama won by a landslide.

  • Ya I looked it up, some other guy came in after him was also a Republican narrowly lost to Doyle in 2002, however your politicians from both parties have never heard of a thing called term limits...

  • This Paul Ryan guy is very impressive!! I like him!

And as someone also mentioned, I too like Bobby Jindal! If he'd been there during Katrina instead of that ignorant dem twerp, would have been a far different story!

  • ron paul / paul ryan '12!

  • Paul ryan and bobby jindal I would vote for in a second in 2012

  • It's awesome that a REPUBLICAN IN WISCONSIN can get SEVENTY (70) Percent of the vote in the latest election.

  • Palin/Ryan 2012!!!

  • No...

  • paul ryan for president 2016

  • Yes!

  • BTW, Saving environments is pretty much a christian or religious duty, Despite what the atheist is trying to sell. Not counting the politically slanted hyperfundamentalists, But the more ecumenial ones.

  • That's Ed Schrock, NOT Ed Scrock. Kind of what that former kook state sen Reynolds & his cohort LeMapewu is probably like.

  • I'm skeptical of Congressman Ryan's assertion that ANWR oil revenues could be used to pay down the deficit and invest in renewables.

  • Rep.Ryan related to the former governor of the state just S of Wisconsin?????, HA HA HA. Another Ed Scrock-Style Republican-In-denial.

  • He's related to me too! And a LOT of other people in the Janesville to Chicago area. He is a good family man even if he is a republican!

  • I don't think so.

  • I 100% Agree with congressman Paul Ryan.

  • Obama has not said what he would do about the problem. We just know what he would not do, such as more domestic oil production and more power plants, refineries, ect. It will take years to replace our energy needs with wind, solar. In the mean time, lets drill.

  • Paul Ryan for President!!!

  • Every single barrel of oil we get in the USA is one barrel less we are buying from countries that want to see us destroyed. The majority of this country wants to DRILL... they also want to do everything else. And we should do EVERYTHING... nuclear, solar, wind, thermal, ocean... everything. Our current lack of an energy policy... or our democratic enforced non energy policy is creating the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. We are being bled dry. Time to change that.

  • Thank you Mr. Ryan. We have to do this NOW.

  • Are all you people this selfish that all you want to do is drill more? Are you that unwilling to give up your SUV's? What about future generations? Shouldn't we leave something for them. The number one thing we can and need to focus on is consumption. If every person pledged to reduce their overall energy consumption by 1/2- we would lower the price and buy more time to invest in renewables. I still see far too many SUV's and big RV's on the road. We can do better.

  • I like this guy. I'd put in the same class with Tancredo,Hunter,King(Of Iowa),and Jordan(of Ohio).

  • Well said Congressman Ryan. Keep up the good work.

  • Rep. Ryan, keep the pressure on! Great speech!

  • "With respect to the world oil price impact, projected ANWR oil production constitutes between 0.4 and 1.2 percent of total world oil consumption in 2030, based on the low and high resource cases, respectively.1 Consequently, ANWR oil production is not projected to have a large impact on world oil prices."

    tinyurl 45oo56

  • Yea, so the best thing is let's do nothing....

You suck, you are the problem!

  • "Proven reserves are classified as oil in the ground that is likely to be economically producible at expected oil prices and given expected technologies. Conventional reserves are often classified according to the degree of certainty that they exist and can be extracted profitably. Even this classification is fraught with uncertainty because there are no harmonized rules about the assumptions to be used when determining this profitability."

    Ok with that said.

  • Wow where you get that quote? Notice it's in quotes everyone!

Which numbers are you citing? Oh and wait a minute haven't South American countries found great reserves in the same continental self region in the Pacific? Hmm. This is a democracy, or it's supposed to be. Let the oil companies take the risk and LET THEM LOOK. If you don't try, if you don't take that first step YOU NEVER GET THERE. What happened to this country?!?! I know we are better than this.

  • The president hasn't lifted a finger to broker passage of legislation that has been stuck in Congress for a year, which could actually impact America's energy profile right now — unlike offshore oil that would take years to flow — and create good tech jobs to boot. That bill is H.R. 6049 "The Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act of 2008". What is Ryan doing to help pass that bill ?

  • The American people aren't thrilled that the "No We Can't!" Liberal Democrat Congress is doing nothing to lower gas prices.

  • Conservatives never conserve.

  • lol conservatives never conserve?

Conservatives spend every dollar that they get?

Bush is a republican not a conservative. Conservatives have done more for this world than any democrat ever has. You give me an example and i'll prove you wrong.

  • All this importation of oil and our money goes to foreigners, some who want to destroy us. This liberal Congress thinks we need more taxes on gas so we are restricted from driving. RESTRICTION OF OUR RESOURCES CONTROLS US EASIER. I say drive out the social controllers and force them to get real jobs like the rest of America. See how they like gas at $4.55/gal instead of the taxpayer supporting their private jet to San Francisco. Drill it!

  • Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  • Five stars for common sense (which by the way isn't so common in this day and age)! Conservatives, liberals, and independents stand together and tell congress we've had enough! We need to become independent of foreign oil, and we need to do it before gas is $8 per gallon like it is in Europe!

  • ah that would suck cause if its 4 dollars now when i get my license (i know i spelt that wrong) it will be really expensive

  • Democrats never did understand common sense economics.

They have their eyes fastened on your pocketbook though - with the intent to redistribute according to their special interest groups.

  • Here's a little common sense for you - 50% of earth's species are expected to be extinct by 2050.

The last thing we need is more oil. If we didn't have so many corporate whores like Paul Ryan in our government, we would have no need for oil in the first place.

  • bologna...your people are lying to you!

  • My people are trained ecologists, yours are not.

  • frellthat, you honestly care more about the fucking polar bears that arent even dieing, than the greatest country ever created!? Get your head out of your ass. There is no possible way on this planet that earth's species will be extinct. If they do it will be the fault of the endangered species act. This act puts the price of an endangered species at 0.000000 There is no incentive to protect something that is worthless. WITHOUT oil nothing runs, this site, your car, ANYTHING!

  • Please get an education. Yes, 50% of Earth's species are expected to be extinct by the end of this century. 25% by 2050. And those are only the conservative estimates. There's nothing about this that is even the slightest bit controversial. There is no excuse for scientific illiteracy in this day and age.

  • be worried about the well being of your own species before others.

  • That's the motto of a parasite.

  • No matter what any politician ever says to anyone. Capitalism fixes it self. Nothing the government will do is gonna help the problem. they can make it worse but that's about it. The free people will fix the market because they are the market.

  • Some people have no sense, maybe I should say common sense. I am 63 years old. I remember when I was in grade school, they said we had more oil than we could possibly use, Little did I know that the idiot democrats would keep us from drilling to bring energy into our country. The other thing that is so stupid is that I have never known of a corporation (Arab nations) that would try to blow up their customers (US). ever.

  • WE? Who is this WE he is talking about? Is the government suddenly going to start drilling for oil? That would be pretty interesting. He's got some idea there. Must be a populist.

  • How did these politicians not see this energy crisis coming?Because all of them are short sighted.Carter was adressing this 30 years ago.

  • They did see it because they created it all by themselves. Now they want to blame us the consumers and the Arab's.. what a joke.

Regan would of started drilling when gas hit 2.00 a gallon and told them all where to shove it.

  • Than why didn't he do more to fix it?!

  • Too many people like Paul Ryan shot it down.

  • We can stop this!

The power is with the people, but we don't use that power.

    RISE UP!!!!!!!!

The government is taking advantage of your "American" attitude.

    WAKE UP!

You are being used, and taken!

If you do not believe me, then continue to pay up, and lose!

    I am,

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Anytime the Saudi's and Hugo Chavez want to bring America to it's knee, they just have to turn off the faucet and say "No soup for you!". Of course they wouldn't do that because they love us so much. lol

  • american solutions . org. Sorry

  • Why isn't this guy running for President?

  • He has my vote!! Finally, someone in the senate with a brain.

  • He is not a senator.

  • Look at it this way, if cars could run on sand tomorrow, would Saudi Arabia import sand from the U.S.A and other countries or would they dig up and use their own? I rest my case. :)

  • We should save ours for last.We might know better than to waste it by then.

  • You mean save it for when Americans are completely bankrupt and can't afford to drive anything at all? Then I guess the Government could ration gas to us peasants so we don't "waste" it. They can tell us when and what to drive too. Or will they let us drive at all? Maybe you would like to see us all on buses and trains and live like a 3rd world country? Where does it end?

  • You just described WW2 and the future of oil.I have not seen any third world countries with mass transit sytems like America. What is wrong with trains and buses?GM is selling Hummer, the airlines are going bankrupt again and all you care about is tooling down the road as cheap as possible.

  • Enviro, The price of fuel is effecting everyone, even people that don't drive. Haven't you been in a supermarket lately?

  • This country has 30 million acres of lawn that we should be growing food on.Sustainability starts at home.Plant a victory garden.Buy local produce.Walk if you can.We are the most over fed, under nourished nation on earth. The fix is not going to be as easy as drilling and we are all in this together. This has been coming for decades.

  • I totally agree.

  • We have squandered every chance in congress to get conservation on the menu.Conservation is the key.We can't drill our way out of addiction.

  • shut up

  • Yes we can. Drill here and become more oil independent while you develop more fuel efficient vehicles to wean us off gas over time. Our vehicles don't run on wind or solar power nor are the likely to in the near future. Real world alternatives to gasoline engines are far off and that doesn't offer any relief to America today. In the meantime, letting foreign nations set the price for a barrel of oil is throwing America into an economic tailspin, and you are complacent with that. That scares me.

  • Everything we buy is costing more because of skyrocketing oil and it affects everyone in this country. You want to cut back on oil consumption, fine with me, but let's cut back on the oil we get from OUR OWN SOIL and tell OPEC to SHOVE IT!

  • padistedor, I don't think they'll understand even when they are paying 20 bucks for a loaf of bread, or a qt. of milk. Even when they are eating the family dog because they are starving, they'll be thankful they saved the pristine wilderness, and be dreaming of electric cars.

  • Giving tax credits to purchase suvs is the type of policy that put us where we are .This guy probably drives a hummer.Mass transit is a real world alternative to driving cars. The economic tailspin is from foreclosures, bad fiscal policy and high oil.We will be independent from oil when the world runs out.

  • Actually I drive a Toyota Yaris and try to drive it as little as possible. The American people should be able to drive what they choose to drive though, that's what makes this America right? Freedom remember? Look, greed and wasteful thinking is definately a huge part of why America is in such a fiscal mess but there is no excuse for importing as much oil as we do when we have plenty under our own feet. It's just plain stupid.

  • i'm with you. i have a small car and i do 75% of my errands with an electric bike. but still, not to invest in oil in our own country is at least stupid and at most unpatriotic. and your right in america we should have a choice as to what we drive, in accordance with our needs and desires.

  • Drilling for our oil is a no brainer. This guy is right!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Conservation would provide very limited relief for a short period of time. The world economies are simply outpacing global supply. But, putting the US on a diet would only further our economic stagnation. The solution is drilling now for the short term, COUPLED WITH incentives for research and development into alternatives such as hydrogen, solar, wind, SAFE nuclear, CLEAN coal, renewable biofuels etc. We can have more energy choices, for less money, with a cleaner environment, if we work at it.

  • I love my Congressman as much as I dislike my Senators. You tell 'em Paul!

  • I hope McCain adds a VP like Huckabee or Palin who is for drilling in ANWR.

  • The question is, how much higher can a gallon of gas get before it puts Americans out of business? We need oil to stay competitive in the world and we need the value of our dollar to be where it was years ago. I have never been so disappointed with congress, I can't imagine why they would want to block us from our own oil supply while China is horizontal drilling right into our Gulf of Mexico taking our oil supply right out from under us. I guess they want to see us suffer.

  • i mean this wouldn't just lower gas bills.. this would open so many doors we probably can't imagine right now. those guys in the middle east can look at a hundred square mile strip of desert, nothing but sand, and say "I see a river, a couple lakes, skyscrapers.." think what we could do frugally.

  • What is the bill number to remove these statutory limits on businesses?

Policy is implemented with a bill, not a speech, or worse yet dealing with every policy issue as a budget item to be opposed!

Congressional Republicans are worthess, and anti-capitalist.

Remember Kemp-Roth, it was a bill not a rhetorical issue.

  • This is the answer.

Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less.

  • Hell yeah you tell those punks in the senate what the american people need!

  • Unfortunately starcatcher, the list of republicans with values other than socialism is dwindling down to a chosen few also. That is more concerning to me than the usual liberal left. We use to have republicans with a conservative voice defending conservative values. Not so much now my friend. These are the ones that need to be watched closely, called out, and voted out. We all know the pelosi's of this world. It is the Lindsy Grahams, and John McCains of the world we need to be cautious of.

  • he said he wouldn't drill in ANWR but he would drill elsewhere

McCain isnt my 1st choice, but hes better then the alternative. have fun with Barry and the rest of the collectivists.

  • Well lets look at McCains conservative record

    McCain-Feingold Liberty grab

    McCain-Kennedy Amnesty for illigal aliens

McCain-Leibermann Stealth tax on industry's carbon emmisions.

McCains bill restricting torture of terrorists

Voted TWICE AGAINST the bush tax cuts

McCains current POTUS agenda is another try at amnesty, and a new and improved stealth carbon tax on industry. There's more but I'm limited to 500 charactors.

Please spare me the barry comments. A marxist is a marxist.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I know how you feel! Makes me wanna scream too!

  • I have not seen evidence that McCain is willing to drill anywhere.

Check out his website, he doesn't mention drilling or additional energy exploration at all.

  • They got my vote: Paul Ryan and Newt Gingrich for the Presidential ticket.

  • if McCain doesn't win this guy needs to run in 08.

  • i mean 2012

  • McCain is your worst nightmare regarding our energy policy. His cap and trade program will destroy America. His scheme will be three times the cost of any universal health care program. McCain isnt going to drill anywhere either. He's bought the climate change scam hook line and sinker. McCain is a travesty and he is the reason I am no longer a republican.

  • amen, brotha!

  • DRILL HERE! Christ, how hard is this to understand?

  • I am honored to have Paul Ryan representing Wisconsin at the Capitol. He is one of the very few republicans in congress that work towards true conservative values. Thank you Mr. Ryan!
