Avery Jenkins only does a big run up on this shot because he isn't laying up like the rest of them. It's a strategical mistake perhaps, but it's not a flaw in his form. He's arguably the best player in the world on any given day.
the older more experienced guys were driving almost exactly the same. Jenkins, younger, did a big run up and you saw where it placed him. But you have the better aim if you put aside the big run up. Look at the way Nate Doss drives, he hardly runs up, he just swings it - he wins world tournaments.
