when I lived there for six months,I found the people to be decent on the whole,however they were very badly let down by their ruling elite,who seemed very corrupt.

@flanneryged yes ur rite the rulers in Pakistan are the main of cause of problems. The situation in Pakistan after 9/11 has worsened. the american presence in afghanistan has created many security threats in or country.
ISI has always been in the favor of Pakistan. talking about fundamentalist there was no suicide attack in our soil since 9/11 and we lived with great harmony with all our neighbours. The fact is america supported terrorist earlier just like they supported saddam regime earlier
