the bitchko brothers spoilt BOXING with their robotic still movement and never ending jab their only weapon is the height!! since african americans left the sports for more lucrative sports like NFL,NBA etc,the HW division just went down the slope.why fight for 4 belts and end like Ali when u could make millions in any team just throwing balls in a basket!! boxing is dangerous, ron lyle died of sudden belly injury i mean what sort of cause of death is that?
anybody agrees boxing is DEAD? anyone agrees none of the two klichkos can stand in front of heavies in the past like these two,the bitchkos won't even last a minute.
Tyson would kill anyone who didn't have good defense. George relied on power. Very little defensive skills. Tyson he would absorb so many of Tyson's blows that it would be hard for him to weather an entire fight with a prime Tyson. he could probably be a 90s version. But that prime 80s version would knock his head into the previous week.George leave himself so wide open, after eating those punches he'd be in the ring looking for a frying pan, thinking he was at home cooking eggs.
@NBAGOATS wrong...tyson was prone to uppercuts...like frazier...have you seen what foreman did to frazier? tyson was quicker and moved his head more...but the well thrown uppercut didn't discriminate between side ti side movers...tony tucker even wobbled tyson with an uppercut...douglas destroyed him with uppercuts...foreman had a chin too...ron lyle hit as hard any heavyweight in history
@knowerzark Tyson is different than Frazier. They don't even have the same style. Frazier dominated by throwing wide hooks, Tyson had way more skills than Frazier and would've knocked him out. My point stands. If a light heavy weight like Jimmy Young could handle foreman and his punches, then so could Tyson. And if Lyle could drop Foreman multiple times, then so could Tyson. If Holyfield could handle his punches with ease without falling once, then so could Tyson.
@NBAGOATS well if you say so....it's all speculation anyway...but it's not perfectly logical...as in a beats b and b beats c therefore a beats c...my guess is that foreman in his prime would have given tyson in his prime a whole mess of trouble...you have to remember that even though tyson was very fast and destructive pre douglas / jail, he fought average fighters...other than old larry holmes and scared michael spinks...consider great names like berbick, thomas, tubbs, biggs. chumps
These two fighters would make today's heavies crap and piss their trunks at the same time. Foreman and Lyle were going at it with 8 oz. gloves, too. UN-FUCKING-REAL!!!
Ali's trainer loosens the ropes in Zaire should he can try his rope a dope. Plus Ali beats Foreman mentally. Nobody was tougher than Foreman in his prime. Not even Lyle.
Foreman was never the same after his loss to Ali. That first loss is a killer not so much just physically but much more mentally.
i saw this fight with my uncle and i was so scared of these guys. i thought they were giants. i mean i knew as a child that this was something different.
you know whats funny? these days you got punks like the klitscho brothers as champions. those bums wouldnt last a day in the heavy weights back in the day. and even at the lower weights u got guys like pacquiao and amir kahn who would be ruined by the leonards, haggler, hearns and duran. i mean i saw a pacquiao fight against marquez a few weeks back and the guy was getting handled. its sad man i miss the old days. we need more american HW's stop going to football fellas go to boxing.
You mean two men he avenged his losses too?? Rahman was like Buster Douglass, got lucky ass shit. Lennox DESTROYED him in the rematch it wasn't even competitive.
@Kingjd87 Yes but the fights proved Lennox's weakness of a soft chin and how brawler could eventually get to it. If Lennox couldn't take a right-hand of McCall what would Foreman do to him? George would have to land at some stage during the fight, it's improbable to think the slow footed Lennox to evade every Foreman blow. IMO When that Foreman bomb lands for the first time it's lights out for Lennox.
Don't compare Rahman to Douglas. Douglas didn't have just a lucky punch, he won about every round of the Tyson fight but the 9th. The only surprise was that he was actually doing as well as he was.
@Kingjd87 How was Buster Lucky? In your infinite knowledge of boxing tell me how he was lucky. Actually don't bother, because you're wrong. That night Buster who was a good boxer when properly motivated, was more motivated then ever. Unlike Tyson who barely trained at all, and thought it would be another quick fight. Not sure if you seen that fight, but he schooled a prime Tyson. made him look like an amateur. It wasn't luck it was skill my friend.
@TheBestBoxingGame Not really, no matter which way you look at it. Buster would have put the hurt of Tyson even if he was in his full prime. Could have gone either way really, but if you look at the fight and do research you will find out how well Buster studied Tyson, and knew just how to counter everything he tried to throw at him. Kind of like Lewis.
@flamezero888V2 As for Buster that night,....Never fight any man who dedicates a fight to his dead mother. Buster would have beaten any heavyweight that night. He was at his personal best and potential. Tyson on the other hand, was at his worst ever at that time. He was TKO'd just days before during training.
@MrBumboclart I say he could KO Lewis early if it was prime Foreman. Older Foreman would do it late in the fight. One punch on the button from Foreman on Lewis and its lights out.
And George was KO'd by Ali - hardly a noted power puncher. He was also floored by Lyle and Young, who were considered bigger bums than Rahman and McCall.
A peak Foreman did not have the skill or mental toughness to beat a peak Lennox. He has a puncher's chance - that's all.
@MrBumboclart Lennox could handle their power. He came back and dominated both fighters. I think George would give him problems. But if a little sloppy fighter like Jimmy young could dominate Foreman the way he did, a fighter like Lewis would clean house. Holyfield took Foreman's punches with no problems.
I remember watching this fight on Wide World of Sports with my Granddaddy and even then I knew I had watched one of the greatest fight I would ever see.Sad but I was right.Fighters had HEART back then, now they take dives and fight only for a payday.Punks.
@IcedFoxx I gotta hand it to Ron Lyle. That man was no punk. And he slugged it out with GEORGE FORMAN!!!!! The MIKE TYSON of the 1970's!!!!!!! WOW!!!!
The list of 'named' Heavyweights who had bouts in 70s was 'endless' (even Liston had a 70s fight!): Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Norton, Shavers, Patterson, Spinks, Ellis, Lyle, Stevenson, Bugner, Berbick, Page, Cooney, Young, Weaver, Tate, Dokes, Snipes, Coetzee, Witherspoon...the list goes on
amazing strength and guts from two class men,put todays guys to shame.the likes of big girls blouse lewis and fraudley harrison should watch this and be ashamed.
@primealivstyson its a damn shame, in time when fighters with more balls turn up maybe we'll have another great era...but not for a while yet it seems
This is what tyson vs ruddock shoulda been

And vice versa. I love George, but Lennox is too skillful, too big and too strong. He took Ruddock and Tyson's best shots and KO'd them.
George had a suspect chin too, Ron Lyle and Jimmy Young were HIS McCall and Rahman.
