@jonathansrant I wish they would keep maintainence up, Some of the monsters in the ride dont even speak or work like they used to ( the mist thing near the marsh doesnt have a mouth now :I there was one monster who used to say "don't be frightened child, they're only humans",and she doesnt say that anymore) And several monsters in the ride, part of their fur is coming loose and you can see the animatronic parts (next time you go look at the monster with the giant pie in its throat.)
the new one is the same ..some props just another level and longer ..i have not riden the new one ...and have not been able to make it to sixflags in over 5 years ...this was my fav ride

@jonathansrant I don't know if you remember the Okeefenokee. That was a study in bad maintenance. And no policing of the ride at all. Every time I rode it, some jack hole would get out of his boat and walk around the scenes to impress his friends.
@lieutenantcracker The video was taken on 10/19/08. The park close for the season at the end of the month. This was one of the final voyages, but not the last.
I heard they changed the name due to the whole plantation and the south and slavery thing and that monster mansion would sound more politically correct. or something like is that true?
it was tired and old, so the ride is getting rennovated, with the original designers coming back adding new characters and the favs. plus tey are putting in new speakers in order to hear the soundtrack clearly

they took it out & are replacing it with a ride kinda the same called Monster Mansion.
