The secret to a lasting relationship is firstly finding someone with the same values and interests as yourself. You have to be kind and forgiving and respect and trust them, if you or they don't have these qualities you'd better forget it. In our celebrity obsessed western culture people are brainwashed into thinking that looks and wealth are everything, they are in fact just superficial. Feelings are important but don't let them control how you act. Also, don't marry to young or too quickly!

My opinion, I've been in a relationship for two years so i am not experienced but I have heard from a lot of older relatives and friends who have been married 40 50 years that love means = that they could hate everything their loved ones do, but for some reason something there exists, love is almost a realization that noone is perfect, and loving them for who they are! just throwing that out there!
