I just received a DVD set for Christmas, that includes this entire episode on it, and it is hilarious! Mel Blanc plays a clerk on it, and it is too funny!
Dennis was not only a great singer, he was a terrific comedian and mimic. He did many of the voices on the radio show. Like Jimmy Stewart, Ronald Coleman. He could imitate anybody!
The clerk attending to Dennis Day appears as a duplicitious lawyer in the whimsical Disney fantasy-adventure "The Magical Gnome Mobile", starring Walter Brennan, as a fiesty but lovable self-made business titan who encounters gnomes, depicted as basically American hillbilly lephracauns, with his grandchildren during a camping trip in his ancient but durable Model-T.
This is from Jack's 1960 "Christmas Shopping" episode, this sequence spotlighting Dennis Day and his "silly kid" persona- here, Richard Deacon makes a rare appearance on the show as a sales clerk.
Just want to second everything that "hajune" posted! Not only could Dennis sing beautifully -- he was a terrific comic actor who could do great imitations, dialects -- all sorts of things!
Mr. Day is quite handsome and has an outstanding voice. I wonder if he was a star on the Jack Benny show or just made off and on appearances.

He's also Mel Cooley, from the great "Dick Van Dyke Show." The actor's name is Richard Deacon.

Dennis spoke Spanish on a couple programs.
I saw him in concerts in the the 60s and 70s.
He didn't make many recordings. I had his
Christmas album and his Irish songs LP.
Jack Benny was the most successful of
all the radio comedians/personalities. Used
to listen to his Sunday night radio show
half a century ago.
