  • Mr. Day is quite handsome and has an outstanding voice. I wonder if he was a star on the Jack Benny show or just made off and on appearances.

  • Lolololollolo at the end!!!!! His face is priceless

  • Wheres Frank Nelson when you need him???

    "YEEESSSSS?"

  • I just received a DVD set for Christmas, that includes this entire episode on it, and it is hilarious! Mel Blanc plays a clerk on it, and it is too funny!

  • Dennis was not only a great singer, he was a terrific comedian and mimic. He did many of the voices on the radio show. Like Jimmy Stewart, Ronald Coleman. He could imitate anybody!

  • Ya, he had amazing talent. Mel Blanc could also imitate anyone.

  • Dennis Day was an incredible singer. I wish someone would post his version of Danny Boy...wonderful!

  • Dennis Day also did a great guest spot on ther radio show, Suspense. He was truly a great actor and singer.

  • The clerk attending to Dennis Day appears as a duplicitious lawyer in the whimsical Disney fantasy-adventure "The Magical Gnome Mobile", starring Walter Brennan, as a fiesty but lovable self-made business titan who encounters gnomes, depicted as basically American hillbilly lephracauns, with his grandchildren during a camping trip in his ancient but durable Model-T.

  • He's also Mel Cooley, from the great "Dick Van Dyke Show." The actor's name is Richard Deacon.

  • This is from Jack's 1960 "Christmas Shopping" episode, this sequence spotlighting Dennis Day and his "silly kid" persona- here, Richard Deacon makes a rare appearance on the show as a sales clerk.

  • Just want to second everything that "hajune" posted! Not only could Dennis sing beautifully -- he was a terrific comic actor who could do great imitations, dialects -- all sorts of things!

  • Dennis spoke Spanish on a couple programs.

I saw him in concerts in the the 60s and 70s.

He didn't make many recordings. I had his

Christmas album and his Irish songs LP.

Jack Benny was the most successful of

    all the radio comedians/personalities. Used

to listen to his Sunday night radio show

    half a century ago.

    Tx 4 posting

  • super stuff. jack benny and staff made more people laugh than anyone. dennis day is one of the most underrated superstars ever
