  • The one and only bari sax....

  • Pepper's the king of the baritone for me - great to see him playing here.

  • All the people that I've talked to over the years that had the pleasure of playing with Pepper have all remember having been in awe of this man that was perhaps the most ferocious Bari player of all time. To me he is one of the most aggressive players off all time. You 'd be hard to find a person that could stand toe to toe with this man for more than a few bars.

  • Amazing guy, amazing sound: like no other. Top clip this, thanks.

  • Pepper Adams is the MAN! Check out "Blue Gene" with Gene Ammons, Idrees Suliman, Mal Waldron, Art Taylor, Doug Watkins, & Ray Barretto (Prestige 7146)

  • Who are the other players? Great little ensemble. Nice piano solo, and beautiful drum solo.

  • @RootsinBrooklyn drummer is Trevor Tomkins (a Brit), pianist is John Horler, not sure about bass (he does announce it in one of the videos of this gig).

  • pepper is just amazing and inspiring, and along with Nick Brignola, simply the most gifted baritone saxophonist to walk the earth.

  • he shittin on harry carney

  • wow...this makes me look like shit lol...amazing

  • Pepper was THE man!!! My favorite all time baritone player!!! Two guys nowadays who come out of Pepper are Gary Smulyan and Frank Basile. Check those guys out if you enjoy Pepper..

  • outstanding, my fave barri player, underappreciated in my view. Thanks for posting.

  • Most people have no ideal how much baritone this man is playing !!! absolutely astounding ! No other baritone sax man enven came close,No not even Mulligan. Pepper left us due to lung cancer in 1986. Please guys dont smoke. smoking kills, period. There will n e v e r be another Pepper Adams........... Ever. R.I.P "Pepper"

  • killin

  • i'm playing bari for my school jazz band and he is my bari idol

  • @squilliam6000 He is great but, in my opinion, there has never been a better baritone sax player than Serge Chaloff. If you don't know him check him out. Start with the album "Blue Serge".

  • Thanks for posting this MASTER MUSICIAN! Pepper was one of my true favorites!!! Great to see him again.

  • The peerless Pepper Adams. What a conception...beautiful ! Thanks

  • I think the bass player also did that great set with Barney Kessel, the Mezzo video with Wave, Autumn Leaves, You are the Sunshine of My Life, Misty, and so on.

  • Hey, I got the drummers name, but what is the pianists and double bass. I'm doing a jazz essay on Adams and writting a bit about this piece.
