I have a '79 silver anniversary CJ-5. Someday I'll get around to rebuilding it. Not sure which engine I'll use. I have the original (shot) 304 V8, a spare fully dressed 304, and a 252 6 cylinder, but I think I want to use a 360. Found an original CJ-5 T-18 transmission. Body has no rust and no major dents. It will make a nice vehicle someday. Someone painted it maroon but I plan to repaint it in original silver.
Badge was badly damaged so I took it off. Does have the rare Silver Aniversary spare tire cover though. I have a 72 CJ-5 Renegade with the 304 but I do like the big six.

I have a stock Silver Aniversary CJ-5 Renegade with original paint, and big six,. Enough power to cruise down the interstate just fine.

I wasnt aware they came wih a 6 cyl. Does yours have the badge on the glove box?

i will have my dads 72 cj-5 on here in a few weeks..hes had it since 73..so its been takin care of..nice jeep though
