@choytabu666 sexual dimorphism in certain species. usually mas dagko ug lubot ug ulo ang babae. ang lalake pud naay hooks sa 1st pair of legs nya mura boxing gloves and iyang pedipalps. pero applicable ra na sa mga adult, kung gamay pa gali, sa molt jud ka mutan-aw, imong pangitaon murag dila-dila sa iyang slit sa tiyan. pag post ug picture, akoy tag ana.
@RichMenAreEvil lol, if you attempt to take a sack, you should take it all the way, if you attempt it and failed, she WILL EAT IT. its for her own good. survival rate for the slings will be a lot better in incubation rather than left with her. she'll be fine and will forget about the whole thing. notice when we dangled it in front of her (we were talking hence the pause) she didnt even bother to give it a glance.
@silverfeatherwerewol -- Oh I know, I just think its kind of cool how even among cannibalistic creatures, there still appears to be maternal insticts. Kind of lets you know there is at least a little bit of good in all creatures, no matter how subtle.... But that sack round the eggs-- so thick! Does she make it?
@RichMenAreEvil even if we left the sack to hatch with her (providing she doesnt eat it), the spiderlings will tear out of the sack and live with her. she cant eat them though because they are tooo small for her to catch. they may be cannibalistic but they are not bad. they only do what they need to do to survive. they are very fragile creatures.
to address your concern, yes she wove the sack before laying the eggs and closed it into a ball. very thick stuff. its like tearing cotton.
@lilbasteard some slings died. others are over 2 inches now some are still 1 inch. only few remain, most have been sold. we got an albopilosum eggsack incubating right now, but it doesnt look good. we also have another a. chacoana eggsack incubating.

how many attemps of mating and how many months or days before it was laid on sept.05?
MrMakoykoy 2 years ago
read the text in the video. as for the mating procedures, cromwell and i agreed to keep it confidential.
the male is very much alive. we will be mating them again once we have a sign that the female is fertile.
silverfeatherwerewol 2 years ago
thanks! pokies are a lot more challenging to breed probably because of their temperment. i hope your male is still alive.
