Folks, obviously you never played a Continental. It is a nice little organ but the sound is very thin and not versatile. Basically it got only one sound character and that may fit to R&R and early 60s music but for the rest forget it. I was happy to replace it with a Hammond.
Alan Price of 'The Animals"put the Vox Continental sound out there with his fantastic skills with "The Animals" recording of "The House of The Rising Sun" ------Sam The Sham used a Farfisa organ-----Charlie
I have seen the rest of your videos. I am very impressed with your collection. Having one Vox is amazing enough, but TWO? WOW!!! I just recently got a Continental and I am trying to build up a collection. I also just got a Doric and a B3, But at the rate I'm going, My collection will never be as good as yours. Very Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, you echo the sentiments of many. It would be great if they would do an exact reissue. To be honest, I don't think they cuold do it exactly the same way and get it to sound right.
did you get this from a guy in England? im pretty sure you bought it from my dads friend! he was the keyboard player in the band with my dad! bet its in great condition knowing geoff!!
well, i live in illinois, US, and i think it averages 1000 american dollars down hear. I've been playing for 10 years now, so i play and am just starting to learn jazz and i love the 60's rock and the continental sound. all my friends are big on 60's music, so ive really aquired a taste for it. this organ was really popular then, as i'd imagine you'd know :) hey, and thanks for the offer :) i might talk to you again sometime if you can really get me one of those if i get some money :)
dude, i saw your other vid and that was pretty sweet. unfortanately, as you will see on my other comment(on the other video), im only 15, so i don't have the cash :( i won't for a while. but hey, for dreaming and saving purposes, how much does that cost on average for one?
wtf, are you ok? it seems that the only thing you have done since you got it is stand in front of your continental. I will have to spend again the afternoon watching your vids. Congrats!
that fuzz is just ridiculous, the bad kind..
