One of the most important things that we in the West have to keep in mind is that we are not just being attacked by Islam. We are also being attacked by Leftist who see the rise of Islam as an opportunity for themselves. It is the influence of the Left, in its many forms (Political Correctness, Antifas, Democrats, Socialist etc) that puts up obstacles and keeps the West from fully confronting Islam. We need to be mindful of this and realize that our enemy has two heads: Islam and the Left.
