I have twin heavy duty batterys on board, aware that LEDs draw a lot less current, but any idea how long i could expect to safely run the lights with motor turned off and not much else turned on drawing power? Also, if at dock plugged in, will my on board battery charger be sufficiant to handle drain on batterys if left on say overnight? Thanks much!

Absolutely. All OceanLED lights can work out of water for varying periods of time, the largest ones for around 30 minutes and the smaller ones for much loner. Every light is fitted with thermal control, so when and i they get hot they turn themselves off to prevent any damage to the light or the boat.

You do need to drill a hole in the hull, technology is not there yet!! With the new Amphibian product range though its only 3/8" hole so its minimal intrusion. If your boat has an engine it has a hole, so in contrast its not that that drastic a procedure.

Lighting is a totally different arena on the water than on the street since for one there aren't any street lights on the water and when it's dark out it DARK. These lights aren't illegal so no coast guard problems.

A fellow boater was stopped last year using similar lights when running the lake. The regulation is if any lighting impedes the visual of standard navigation lighting, then it is illegal. His lights were red and affected the appearance of the navigation lights when overtaking his boat.
