@RainerSh19191313 I put a small fiberglass rod into the batten pocket with the batten and taped them together to extend it back away from the sail. It can't be too long or it will shake too much.
@iwuvwoo234 It should have bothered you more that in one of the pitchpole sequences my 90 kilos landed on top of a 15 year old girl. She was ok by the way. The boat is ok too, even after the beaching.....you know, they also call them "beach cats". Thanks for your concern though.
I'm telling you, the world's hobie sailors should unite. If more people went sailing and spent less time shooting each other i think we'd all get along a lot better. . . you can't love sailing and destroy the planet at the same time - I dont think :O
Great video guys... Manos From Greece here. Nacra 4.5 owner, newbie on the cats. Glad to see a fantastic video that took me on the wire and let me get the feeling on a windy and cold day here. But hey, summer is near... Cheers.
Great stuff! Vid shows the essence of the phrase: "Have a Hobie Day!" Fantastic array of views showing Hobie sailing... simply brilliant, actually! A pleasure to see people having a good time, and putting their creative effort into making a video. THANKS!
whoo hoo. Love your video and your upsets and righting sequences. supah! Where is your favorite place to sail your Hobie. I'm USA, and coming to EU june 08......going to rent a hobie 16 for a few days somewhere.............
try engadina in Switzerland, great winds and in the middle of the mountains or try the Northsea in the Netherlands (go for TEXEL ISLAND), best place in Europe for CATS.
Freakin' amazing! I'm going to agree with the comment from civilranger. I'm not sure if you were at work like I am now but you are absolutely right. I'm ready to put on a fake cough, get the hell out of here and go rig up my baby!
at the beach this week, sailin' away, even found a camera that's waterproof n fairly cheap at the local surf shop. Maybe I'll get one done before long...
man I keep coming back to watch this video, much more the whole picture than some other vid's on net. Beautiful, great tune, nice shots of different events (capsize, pitch, reaching, launching and landing. Perfect. Takes me there. . .
Thanks for the comments. My camera has some problems so I'm not making another film this year...maybe next year. For those who like the music it's by the Pat Metheny Group, a cd called Imaginary Day, the song is Follow Me. Thanks again.
Very nice work guys. I'm a hobie lover and was sitting here on a windy afternoon wishing I was out on the water. Your video took me there, some of the neatest shots I've seen so far on you tube. Nice job.
Thanks for that I used to sail a Dart 18 years ago (did the worlds a couple of times) brought back some good memory's of summer days playing on the wire.
I didn't know the hobie 16 has a rotating mast. Do all of the hobies have rotating masts?(the glass ones)

Excellent, What kind of camera setup did you use? How did you get the camera attached to the mast?
Im trying to get my H16 ready for the season. Where are you located at in Norway?
I'd like to try to make a video this summer.
