I especially like Ayn Rand's hair ... for some reason it inspires devout, unquestioning devotion to a laissez faire utopia where consumer and worker protections are non-existent and businesses are free to pay their employees starvation wages.
the point was the I have no idea whether socialists can even comprehend what capitalism and competition in the marketplace is all about.
all too often you have politicians "negotiating" with a union "negotiator" hammering out your pay, but it has infinitely more to do with reelection than it does with "fair pay"
you do not HAVE TO argue with anything, it is kind of a pity that your knee jerk reaction is to argue and not to learn
@jimacheson "I have no idea whether socialists can even comprehend what capitalism and competition in the marketplace is all about."
Yeah, you have a point there. Hard to imagine how anyone outside of a particular belief system could understand the tenets, philosophy and history of such a system. Great argument. Almost as good as the one about librarians being paid by socialist communities ... whatever the fuck that means.
Plunder rules and the end does not seem in sight. I wonder when the productive people will throw in the towel without a Galt's gulch.

@myplasmaenergy Smart idea you had.
I suppose I'm at half-Galt so far.

@librarianeric How could her style of hair contain her ideas?
yankeewh1te 1 year ago
@librarianeric you don't know what you are talking about.
if people are not paid a FAIR wage, they will not perform. If workers are paid what they are worth, they will do what they are paid to do.
If people are SKILLED, they can DEMAND what they are worth.
I do not want people thinking that a clerk at CVS should earn what a skelled worker should earn. People should aspire to better themselves.
But, I guess librarians are paid by socialist communities, and you have no idea what I am saying

@jimacheson Okay, you got me - librarians are paid by socialist communities.
I'm not sure how to argue with that!
