This song always sounded unfinished. The tempo change into the backbeat is just crying out to be extended into something a little more grand.

Wonderful use of double tracking on Paul's voice.

He still has amazing vocal range.

@timpovikings There is no tempo change in the song. When it gets to the part, "Take a good look around you", you just hear more percussion in the background, but the tempo stays the same. Personally I think it is a very clever and well-crafted song. The A section, then B section in a contrasting key, then an extension of the B section since it is still in the same key, then back to the A section (instrumental only) then back to B section (1st part only), then back to A. I love it! Paul rocks!

The tempo changes to the backbeat from a common 4/4 i.e. The 2nd and 4th beats are highlighted, much in the vein of the Pretenders: "DON'T GET ME WRONG". It's also a key change. It just seems to be crying out for an extension.

I also feel that the White Album might also be called their Ummagumma period; self idulgent tracks, some dropped from the previous album. But all have an intrigue and magic that has never jaded.
