Wow, over here in Aberdeen City - Scotland, everyone gets out the way for emergency vehices.
My Dad is from HK but all he remember's about the police & that is them pulling body parts out the harour from shark attacks & riot's against the police.
Whats the diffrence between EMS Fire Service & EMS ST John's?
EMS fire service is fire service operated and is government, St. John is a volunteer and takes private calls, stands by at events such as horse racing and is used as FS ambulance when all are out.
I am a St John Ambulance member in the UK and we do do normal call outs when the EMS are busy, or during bad weather like snow when the normal ambulance service can't get places....we have off road 4X4 ambulances as well as normal ones so we can.
對警察冇咩感覺，但我喺度要向消防同埋救護班「師傅」致敬，佢哋每出一次車，都孭著最少一條生命！所以各位司機，唔該你哋聽到有緊急車輛著燈響號嘅話，就應該識做啦，讓一讓啲緊急車輛過先，都唔會徙你哋好多時間，最多咪幾十秒！唔係想咒大家，將心比己、易地而處，如果你或者你屋企人出事嘅話，你都想緊急車輛有咁快得咁快嚟到啦，係咪？
嗰幾十秒嘅讓路有機會救返(最少)一條人命，其實都算係積咗功德呀！

Yea, it can congested at times here..but not all Emergency services have problem to get through.

In Hong Kong, they also help regular ambulances if they are out and are standby for major events such as horse racing days and carnivals.
