there are many tribes from old that have been destroyed ,changed never to be the same again all we can do is remember and never forget nations that have raped ,killed, for there greed will reap what they sowed love and peace to all
Revenge is the only word, 'that' does not stand in military terms, as a military action, therefore; when a military unit commits revenge, there 'is' no honor. Revenge is the only word you could put on this stupidity of killing old women, men and children. What honor is there in such an action? Therefore, rescind the Medals of Honor for the Wounded Knee Massacre (battle, in military terms).
Read the epic novel "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon Int., the story of the revenge and redemption.
I didn't grow up on the reservation, but ALWAYS felt like something was missing and couldn't relate to any of the people where I live, but when I went to visit relatives on the rez, it always felt like I had come home, even as a little girl I felt this way.
@ITSONLYMEWATCHING I'm a Cermak, John Cermak is my 2nd great grand father, and he has Indian land assessments in 1944. His grandmother was Angline Morand sister of chief Littlecrow. Oh i'm on it lol
Really? Because I was under the impression the Cermaks were land squatters, just like about 80% of the people living on the land right now. I connect to Lucy Otherday who happens to be my gggrandmother who is on both census' along with the other Otherdays. Maybe I read everything wrong? But I don't recall the name Morand or Cermak on any of the census', but then again they are kind of hard to read.
Nope you don't connect; I just asked someone who knows and they said that SMSC and the courts used this fact that your family was not on the census to evict your family and this is the reason your family is fighting as well for the land as well (and the millions dollars a year your family has been receiving) but in the end you won't be allowed in just because John Cermak had a land assignment illegally, when it all comes down to it. Sorry dude.
when i was 14, i was told by a healer that one of my guardian angels were a sioux indian who had been with me for many lifetimes (i never really believed her, it was so farfetched). last year, at 21, i exchanged to north dakota. i took a walk in the woods and on the other side of town, there were several native americans by a cafè. i walked right by them, then i heard my name (Katrine). i turned and there was a sioux woman looking at me, i felt lost in time and place. we didn't speak though.
@zugarpies My husband and just came back from North Dakota, Crazy Horse Monument. I was so moved by it all I cried during the movie presentation and the museum. I told my husband we had to move there as I felt I belonged somehow to the Lakotas. The Spirit moves us in ways we do not know.
No Native American who is educated (knows what is going on) would become a Christian. Who do u think the remnants mentioned in Revelation are? In old testament chapter of Malachi a message 2 Native Americans about being purified by fire is there. It is mandatory for all Native Americans 2 be atheists. Think it is all nonsense. Read about the time machine in Malachi. Write chemtrails conspiracy n above search box.
Ho! de waste tka ite owapig hena Lakota wicasta ka winyan hecapi..hena Lakota oyate...Dakota Oyate is hena tokcapi do...but all in all very good job putting this together!
Does anyone know if there's a way for me to find my ancestor's tribe? I've been searching the internet for some way to do this, but I haven't found anything too promising. I'm not looking for them for money, or for a way to get scholarships for college, which I've found that others have tried (that's awful, by the way). I just wanted to know if I could meet her family, because I never knew my Sioux ancestor.
@EvangelineAraho I know there's like nine Indian reservations in South Dakota, but like anyone else some move away to other states. Try calling one of the tribes on any reservation and most likey you might get a response. Worth a try. Good luck.

Wow! That's awesome, I hope you can connect to the census because if you can't, in a year, it won't be your home anymore.
