  • i have the same shirt

  • your hilarious paul, love the vids

  • noob!

  • Verizon scrathces booty

  • i saw it too

  • i want to throw something in micheal buckleys face!

  • Carousel mall

  • you should be paid for that. they are using your face!

  • SUE THEM

  • They made a Blackberry Paperweight commercial about my two year complaint to their company about my phone that I was not ALLOWED to return and was not replaced for 7 months--that phone didn't work either, nor the phone that replaced that one. NEVER buy from a kiosk for ANY phone. THEY ARE NOT COMPANY EMPLOYEES NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. If the phone is broken they won't take it back and neither will a real company store. Cust. Ser. really isn't helpful, they just want you to keep paying.

  • they knew you were just gonna turn around and sell it for crack thats why they didnt replace it.

  • @lespaulplayer09 You got me! That's exactly what I was going to do!

  • Sue them!! XD

  • They don't have to pay you the way the law reads out you have to have a Copyright on it.

  • @nysp2007 According to their own taped conversations, that fact that I never gave them permission to use my intellectual property for financial gain establishes that they essentially 'stole my work. It's the same principle as if I copied your work during a test or took your term paper and put my name on it. Even though you did not copyright your work, you can readily prove that I stole your intellectual property.

  • oh paul

    ur the best

    lol

  • It becomes open for the public to view, but not to use in derivative works. However, YouTube can do what they want with it. From the ToS:

"For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions. However, by submitting User Submissions to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions"

  • You're a funny one nypj. You act like you know the laws. Are you a law expert? Verizon doesn't earn anything from this. Oh and, why are you proving people wrong over the internet... when Paul himself isn't worried at all? If this is anything, it is free advertisement for Paul. So stop debating over it.

  • ya they do. if you take something someone else made and use that to gain money, they deserve royalties for making it.

  • upload

that just goes to show you got this info from the comments below

  • what that makes no sense...verizon isn't MAKING ANY money off of paul's vid [or the split second of it for that matter]. once paul uploads it onto youtube, it also belongs to youtube. IF anyone would be gaining money, it would be youtube, south park, etc. Verizon is simply advertising a phone.. that's it.

  • I'm pretty sure that Verizon made money off of that commercial. You really don't think that the videos on the phone were there for a reason?

  • no its not, your technically saying when you borrow a dvd and copy it its yours and you may sell it. Thats illegal, this video is the property of Paul, not them, they should of asked for permission. He can legally sue them.

  • @ihor69 That's not fully true. Unless it's been copy written then it's "unowned" meaning it's not anyone persons. Or unless they hacked your computer. But if it's on like youtube, google video, or any other file/video share site then it's no body's legal ownership. Except for like 50Cent music videos for example; on vidoevo, i believe that is the youtube channel. There are many different instances and circumstances that play apart in if you "have a case" or not...

  • @nypj it's COPYRIGHT, not copywrite! What do they teach in school these days?

  • no - you do not need to register something with a government office to obtain a copywrite... it is helpful innn copywrite disputes, but not a requirement... as soon as something is created the person who created it holds the copywrite, unless it was created during the course of someones employment, in which case the employer is the copywrite holder... registering a copywrite is useful, but not required....

  • Wow, this is just like DamnImReallyOdd (dot) com

  • Sue the shit out of...wait NO copyright!

  • What are you people talking about copyright? He's not making any money off of it and he wouldn't be sued because he is also advertizising their company.

  • I was once shown on local tellie buying a hamburger at a music festival!

  • yeah i'd be asking for money and not plugging it as 'weird' but 'illegal'.

  • Its only illegal if he has the video copyrighted

  • as soon as a work of art is completed it is copywritten, I would sue the fuck out of verizon, especially since I would not want to promote them...

  • Dunno about you, but that's illegal where I come from. You should tell them you'll sue them unless they give you a big cake and a hug.

  • Actually he can't... Any none copyrighted material put on the internet, is PUBLIC domain. The only thing he could (maybe) do is to ask to take his video off the advertisement. The is no chance this dude could get any money for that.

  • bullshit... there is plenty of copy write material on the internet..

  • Sorry nypj but, what do you mean?

  • just because someone publishes something to the internet does not automatically put it into the public domain, the creator still maintains copywrite ownership of his work.. and if his work is used for commercial purposes then he has the right to financial compensation....

  • ok nypj, the fact of the matter is that in the contract verizon provides(within the fine print) is more than likely a statement that makes this kind of thing possible or else he could sue

p.s. Look up laws and contracts ;) and have a nice day

  • why sue? just shove ice cream in their face lmao

  • haha thats awesome. randomly showing up in commercials on tv. not bad.

  • weird

  • thats totally awesome! congratulations... cept them not giving you anything kinda fucked up

  • aww you were in my home town. Will be you back to the 'cuse soon? (2007 i know)

  • so cool dude XD

  • are you canadian?

you kinda got a lil accent goin on there bub

  • yes, he's canadian

  • yea man. file a lawsuit. not that you really need to or that it would be an important case, but it would be funny

  • yeah man u should have filed a lawsuit. They didnt even ask u if they could use u as an add for verision. what a bunch of assholes. they could have at least sent u a notification they did that

  • idk its weird he said"after we sent the video to them"

  • Fuck verizon.

  • i would like for u to know that i was the one tht made that add so screw u i work for verizon! u know if u have a verizon account i can cancel it for what u said

  • ..You're fucking stupid kid.

  • Sue them :D

  • Did they ever pay you for putting you in that ad?

  • LOL

    HE LOOKS LIKE NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE

  • i know aren't i just amazing. -_-

  • i live like IN syracuse :)

  • along with almost 200,000 other people... A+ for you...

  • Whattttttttttttt I live an hour from Syracuse.

  • Comment removed

  • I Love this

    tfitz77!

Also see my YouTube site & receive FREE Gift Cards!

  • he doesn't get any money because anything you put on youtube belongs to them

  • Wrong.

  • yoooooo i have that phone!..haha

its cool you were in it!! =DD

  • OMG IT WAS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey don't go knockin the teln man he is the man among men- men love Paul you should get a grip

  • i was making a joke i am a much bigger nerd than that it was only a joke

  • Good gig if you can get it

  • They had to pay you

  • It's Youtube whatever you post online is viewable to everyone else, it shouldn't be be any different on a commercial. That's just my opinion though

  • Yeah, but if Verizon is getting paid for what their doing, Paul should get some money. Youtube even says you cannot copyright unless you have permission. They didn't notify him first.

  • Hey I would be flattered if I got that kinda publicity. I wouldn't say anything but thanks :)

  • he cant, anybody can use any youtube video. you put it on youtube, its free game

  • Oh, how random!

But you know, they picked your vid especially PAUL cause you rock :)

  • haha! Paul they fucked u over brotha!

  • I bet they paid the southpark people wtf??

    Can ya Hear me now???

  • hahaha i hear ya bro

  • Wow, you got no money and could sue. As well as the other images if not used with permisson or given royalties.

  • its probablys in the terms and conditions if you upload a video to youtube they have rights to use it :P

  • hahahhahahah lmao hahahahhaha

  • so they didnt pay you? they ripped you off! go figure! fuckers

  • hey paul u have to come to buffalo an please let me kno if u plan too an when

  • That phone they showed in the beginning is the same one that I have!

  • a normal person in a verizon commercial makes between 20-100 thousand. and you got nothing, I know this cause I was in one.

  • you have a legal case

  • your famous...why?

  • that is so cool great one paul 5***** excellent

  • Fuck that!!!! I want some money to have my face plastered all over the universe on a deal like that!!! I guess they just assumed that since you are on YouTube, you don't need to eat and pay bills!!!!! BASTARDS!!!

  • Typical of companies just using video they don't even clear.

  • Lucky Bastard!

    (no offense)

  • Lol thats Funny

  • yeah you deserve it goo Paul!!

  • don't sue them. I'd ove to have a video of me in a commercial

  • My god, all you morons need to read the User's agreement before spamming boards with idiot comments.

  • i live in syracuse! :D

  • Syracuse NY? If so, that's weird. I'm 20 minutes away!

  • hey I just finished doing a couple of Verizon commercials and by law they are not allowed to use any photo or video in their commercials without peoples consent, because they can get sued. So if i was you i would sue their asses off and get royalties since this is playing in different locations. And you have proof with this video and your other. so go for yours.

  • I believe the YouTube agreement that all YouTube users agree to allows YouTube to distribute your uploaded videos. COuld be wrong, haven't personally read through it all, but I know I have heard someone suggest it's written in there that YouTube can distribute your videos.

If anyone knows the actual truth to it, I'd be interested in hearing your reply.

  • sue the bastards!!!! >:O

    -Y-

  • dude, you could so sue them for like, 1 million theoretical dollars... it would so cool. remember paul, i love to hate you!

  • i have a picure of your face on my underwhere

  • hey i saw that commercial like 50 times on tv and saw it on a billboard

  • mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • I was in a comercial and you should have got paid.

  • haha i saw that commercial on TV

  • cool! it actually aired?

  • yeah it did.

  • Bwahahahahaha! :) That's awesome dude and heck yeah they better after not paying for it!

  • you should've sued them!!

  • i dont think you can. i think you had over your rights when you upload the video. From my understanding, in the fine print of the registering of Youtube, Youtube can claim the rights to the video...thus, YOUTUBE is probably making the money off Paul!!! THOSE BASTARDS!

  • Haha nice man

  • You're in syracuse thats where im living boy Syracuse FTW!

  • haha the phone in the beginning...that my fuckin phone

  • By using YouTube, you give YouTube the right to sell your videos for whatever.

  • Vacationing in Syracuse? Fire your agent.

  • ROFL HAHAA

  • Michael Buckley rocks! WHAT THE BUCK!

  • your mad famous bro!

  • but isn't it public on the internet already? so why would they have to pay royalties?

  • You can bet they paid Comedy Central for the clips of the daily show and south park.

  • I'd brush up on copyright laws before you try that.

  • lol nice bro.. I like ur vids.. greetings from Peru

  • Dude! I live like an hour from Syracuese!

  • ahha that is sooo wicked! so what about the guy who is getting icecream in his face?

  • still thats an honor to be featured in a verizon wireless add. That does wonders for your positive numbers in viewers. THe only problem is that the add didn't feature your youtuber name. Well thats still amazingly awesome. You should have gotten royalties tho. You deserved it more than anyone else on youtube.

  • No royalties!? tsk, tsk, tsk... What ever happened to honest business? Oh wait...

All well... A half a second of fame is better then... already being a internet celebrity... right Paul? Oh who am I F*@#ing kidding! Still that's pretty amazing. Congratulations!

  • SUE THEM :D

  • Umm you can sue them for that cant you? cuz dont they have 2 pay u to put your video on since its copyrighted by u?

  • but for him that's like a free advert

    COOL!

  • Wow, you have a lot of word vomitters on your pages. Including me! *word vomits*

  • Yeah, yeah, commenting again. But I just have to ask: is that the Best Buy in Carousel Mall? Pleas e tell me, I'm dieing from curiosity. If my memory serves to be correct, it looks the same. But then again, a lot of chain stores look the same, so I could be wrong, but please tell me.

  • Oh snap! In Syracuse NY? Is that right? Seriously? Superlative? Wow, I used to live there. That's ironic. My friend/s live in Syracuse too, so when I first watched it, I'm like, "What the freak? Syracuse New York? That's ironic."

I moved more or less three years ago, so I'm living...somewhere else right now. I forgot to mention this in my first comment. It feels weird to be double commenting.

  • Yah, I know. How weird is that? I mean, the Jonas Brothers are featured in a Verizon commercial too, but they are famous. Not that you aren't it's just that...aw nevermind.

Kudos to Michael Buckley for telling us to go to your channel, it will definitely help with my 'Smosh withdrawal'. Hah. Funny stuff.

  • they dont have to pay you anything because anything you put on this site as well as myspace they automatically have the rights to it.They dont have to tell you anything about it.

  • no, the owner of the site does

  • if you´re asking because he´s friends with Michael Buckley, you´re are sad and no answer will help you...if not, my gaydar doesn´t go off.

  • lol no. i just thought that because i thought he had a boyfriend. sorry ppl!

  • nice accomplishment

  • 0:31

LMAO the guy in the backround on the wee cart thing

  • You should've gotten something for them using your clip! Even if it were free equipment :)Best of luck! Lisa

  • I noticed that, dude! You are sooo cool!

  • LUCKY!!!!!

  • wow youre in a commercial SWEET thats so awseome lol

  • You friggin lucky bastads!! Awesome!!

  • Possibly you can make a claim saying since it had your face in the video and it was YOUR video that you should of gotten something out of it since they used you for advertisment.

  • psh ya! if i were him id ask for the cash.

  • The reason I think it's possible to sue is because, ad's have to ask consent if they use a musician's song on thier ad? Why should a video be any different? Id look into it.

I also saw this on a video I tried to watch a while back:This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by British Sky Broadcasting, Ltd.

  • SUEING Verizon Id consider it even though they fed you this 'youtube videos can be used' BS. Theyre using something youve made in an AD so they can GAIN money correct? Obviously without asking for your consent to use the video to make them money.

  • Paul -- What's the deal with no royalties? As an American, my first thought is "can't he sue?" Get a legal team and sue the pants off of them!

Anyway, you are my favorite nut. Talented, goofy, and endearing. Keep on entertaining us, will you? JM : )

  • I live so close to Syracuse!! XDD oh boy i hope to see that commercial :D

  • who vacations in Syracuse?

  • wow!! you should have gotten money for that!

  • lol nice one

  • No royalties??

  • OMG THAT IS AWESOME

  • CongratZ!!!!!

  • haha! thats awesome man! at least you know youre doing something right.

  • i no mike buck...

    aint that weird..

  • Hey, i remember that vid you made.

    It was funny

  • Great Paul. Also, I agree about doing your crazy stunts on the big screen. I'd love to be in one of your bits. That would be awesome.

  • I just totally stumbled across this by accident I'm from syracuse I'll check this out next time I'm there hahaha

  • lmao I will look for it!!!

  • LOL, dang dude, thats funny, and you should get paid, and they should at least let you know

  • Now!! Dammit!! You should get your royalties!!!

    SERIOUS!!

  • Nice. ^^ Would be awesome if you guys, like, broke out bigger than YouTube imo. :3 Maybe even an Apauled movie one day...? *hint hint* ;3

  • From the Terms of Use (article 6.c):

"...by submitting User Submissions to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the YouTube Website and YouTube's (and its successors' and affiliates') business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the YouTube Website..."

  • There is an option to where you choose whether it is allowed to have on broadcast or not... so you can't sue. Unless you marked it's not okay.

  • I guess this comes under "fair use" laws - it's a brief clip, reduced in size, to communicate a general idea rather than to communicate the clip's subject matter. I doubt a court would rule against them if they were pressed for royalties.

  • Verizon CAN afford to pay you royalties. If I forget to pay my bill, they turn my family's service off. Then they charge a separate reinstatement fee on all 5 cell phones!!! Times that by all the customers they do this to every month. Verizon CAN afford to pay you royalties.

  • Congratulations! So now I can say I've subscribed to a national star's vids!

  • WOW congratulations bro, i knew u would make it! its only time before someone big recognizes you and gives you loads of money... on that note i am jealous :(

  • Ha! I'm originally from Syr.

  • point???

not getting paid...no recognition....so why be so excited?

    GET PAID!!!
