Reading the comments a month back made my day. Really did.

To those who play games for game play and not appearance, this is a great game. Not perfectly balanced, but it is better than most. Even if you don't have a huge craving for anime (like myself) I still highly suggest this game if you're into 2D fighters.

truthfully, if it were my opinion; A blade is deadlier than a fist. No matter how gay or idiotic it is behind that blade, if they can handle it well enough to kill you, then that just makes it even more embarassing. Ken and Ryu may be able to be the top of the SF roster, but if you bring blades into it well, lets just say Ryu may not be "hadoken'ing" with the best any longer. Lets face it, Setsuna would kick Ryu's ass if it really came down to it.

Gotta say I don't exactly agree. There are plenty of subtleties and even blatant differences in character design, and concept. It is especially seen in costume and animation production for characters in the medium.

I honestly think the argument that characters "look the same" is one that doesn't hold much water at all. Some do, just as we see in western animation, film, art. If we see repeating design it is a commentary on the producer, and not the medium itself.
