I doubt it was the needle. I wasn't vaccinated, but I am autistic. My father was vaccinated as a teenager (variola), got meningitis, but was autistic before. My mom had encephalitis/meningitis with age 30 without a reason and didn't get autistic. When I was little, I hardly survived measles, because I wasn't vaccinated. The risk to get a meningitis without vaccination is like 100 times higher. The risk to die is 50%. The risk to survive, but develop autism-like symptoms is much lower.

that was cute. my son has asperger's, but, as you may be aware of in the asperger community, we don't necessarily consider "autistic spectrum disorders" autism. i will say this: my son got the double whammy because of a vaccination he had at 6 months containing a form of mercury. Good video! I have a cousin, he's autistic too. He's very cute but he totally lives in his own world. He is a genius though, I mean he was 2 years old when he knew the entire alphabet by reading letters! Even if you would turn a W up side down, he'd read it as an M! But he's currently 5 years old, but he still can't speak properly. :(

That is something to not laugh at because Autistic poeple have a tendency to have verbal or commumination problems and to be shy toward people. He was probably running away because being around a lot of people makes Autistic people like him uncomfortable. Also, sometimes they do not realize that they do things that makes normal people think they are weird. Autism is a spectrum disorder that ranges between mentally retarded or really smart.

glad to see people getting involved in something they believe in, but I question how specific a diagnosis of "autism" is, .. I have doubts about the accuracy of the label of autism - and then secondly, I think that autism seems not life-threatening or extremely serious as characterized by a "slowness" of thought processing rate. I doubt there is any drug cure, although perhaps telling the truth, history and science might help - and seeing the images each species thinks helps.

Just be careful where you are going with this, people. There's a difference between acceptance and sympathy.
