  • Speak on it, Way!

  • I'm bisexual..I just came out 2 years ago..im 14 years old and I am still in middle school and I have faced some bullying in my life because im bi. I havent told my parents yet because they are homophobic, but I am going to find a LGBT community...You are so inspiring in the video. Thank you.

  • Lol this guy is cute

  • there is also no gay community centres or groups near my area either. :(

  • I'm not usually bullied (I'm a lesbian), but one of my good guy friends who's gay was made fun of and called a "faggot" for wearing some eyeliner, which he likes to do. I got really pissed.

  • Let us unite through the Internationale! Search The Internationale, listen and use it as our weapon to stand up against such facsist! So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal,Unites the human race.

  • I dont have a gay, lesbian cumunity centre where i live =( and im only 15 and want to see other gays in my area and i support you

  • thanks a lot for your video

  • Why don't we have anybody like this in the UK? The kids and even a teacher are horrible to me. They don't know that I'm bisexual, but there are rumors going round that I'm lesbian. I have no idea why though. I barely speak to anybody but my friend at school, they don't even know me. I would do more to defend myself but then I'll probably just say something stupid and the bullying will get worse =[.

  • lol m8 sorry to hear about your tough experiences, I was at gay pride today in Dublin and was surpised at the amount of gay teens who were there. THings are getting better slowly, so every1 hang in there.

    lol

  • that´s what happening to me at my school and my teachers don´t do anything to help me

  • your true and important speech touched me deep in my heart. It feels good to see people like you who are fighting against hate and saying what needs to be said!

I'm truely proud to know you - at least a bit - and I joined only just your website.

    Thank you =)

  • I have a great deal of respect for you :]

I'm the 'tranny', and I happen to also be be in a small town where homophobia and transphobia is rampant.

High school is so horrible. I'm a freshman this year and so many times I have said that I want to drop out as soon as possible because I get so upset over what happens to me every day.

Please check out the 'Equal Access Act' if you have problems with getting a GSA started.

If only my community were a little larger..

  • ACLU also offers legal advice on getting GSAs started in hostile schools. Check out the advice on their website.

  • I am also the kid at school that gets beet up on a regular basis for my sexual orientation, I agree with everything that you are saying.

But thankfully my school has a GSA, and im glad for it because it has helped me come out and not feel bad about my sexual orientation.

  • God bless you for doing what you do! Beautifully articulated.

  • I support you

  • "Homosexuals are to be treated with respect and compassion"

    if only people listened...

  • From a conservative Christian. Thank you gentlemen and ladies for having a very straight forward, legitimate approach to a problem that needs addressing. I respect this video and the gentle responses that are levied here. In a hostile political culture between us, I respect and appreciate this particular advocacy video post.

  • Thanks, Tahoejimmy. I think that while many people may have differences of opinion, we can all agree on a certain level of civility and safety, as well as an open discourse.

  • You are correct. You will go along way to bringing healing to our country and the splintered differences that we have in ideological world view with your great attitude and gentlemanly nature.

  • Thanx, means alot 2 me

  • Everything you said was right on point.

I agree that we need to go through legal and administrative channels but our influence in those areas can be limited. What we can always do is provide a safe space for young people, and that's just what the gay community rarely does. Our relationship to our young people is usually indifferent or even predatory. By now we should have established our own schools for them to attend, and our own economy to provide job opportunities once they graduate.

  • Nice work Waymon.

  • Waymond, as usual, a very insightful and caring post.

I think the biggest empasse this movement will face is from teachers and administrators of older generations--and yes, they're still firmly ensconced in many schools. They will claim the protection is unnecessary or worse, that we are asking for "special treatment".

And these older voices often have considerable influence in the school systems.

  • I went through the same things back in the 80's!

I hated school and wanted to quit so many times but my dad made me stay, I am glad I survived it all, as it was pure terror!

  • perfectly said ~ xoxo
