Kind of depends on how bad cost of living is there. If a one room efficiency appartment cost $1300. A month with cockroaches and rats thrown in then $11.00 hr is very low wages.
It is an honor to consider Ed Wilson as a personal friend and mentor. He did his post graduate work here on Hurricane Creek in the 50's. His video message posted on my page is a very strong message of how important people in the trenches are to environmental protection.
We are, according to Dr. Wilson, "The Thin Green Line"

OMG $12.68? give me a brake -I was thinking something like $7.00 --and if they are students who are doing work study --they are suppose to get about $8.00
but I don't live in Boston -but I getta move down there -if working $12.68 is causing all this commottion!
that is the average pay, including those that have worked for the company for years, and those that hold supervisory positions. i am an allied barton worker in illinois, and i'll tell you what i make much less than that. 11.00 start, with a 3% yearly raise which does not take effect until january 1 after your start date. there are no benifits whatso ever and virtually everyone especially on 3rd shift must support their families on this.
remember we are the first people on the scene that may have to resuscitate you if you ever fall pray to a medical emergency. do you think the person saving your life should make as low as $11?
there are those that have been working here for over 18 months without a pay raise, without benefits, and because the job opportunities are so low in the area, cannot leave. and you want to sign up?

Move to Cuba. It's a Socialist paradise, everything is free, and the weather is real nice, not like Boston in the winter.
