  • Nicely played!

  • Cheers!

  • This song is Unknown for me. That's good surprise ! Well-played

  • glad you liked it - and a surprise can't be bad at this time of year!

  • thanx!

  • Well I went ahead & bought the Phosphor Bronze .010-.047.

I got the man made ivory pins & lefty nut.

I don't want to shave down the nut just yet.I'll wait to get a man made ivory saddle.

The action is higher,& it still buzzes on certain frets.

I got a dunlop capo too that make the action a little better.

I read in Harmony Central that the sound is better two weeks after you put on new strings.

    We'll see.

    Thanks again for the info.

You're right, the x-light strings make it sound a little too brite

  • I think I'll try the light strings for now.I play hard too,but I don't want to create problems w/ the tension.

They had lowered the saddle too,and the used match box paper to raise it again. If I can get a pro to fix the buzzing,I might invest in those Bone ivory pegs.A lot of players I know, swear by em'.@ $100+ for 6 pegs,it's an expensive proposition. But,hey, the guitar cost me nothing. My friend bought a Martin, and they said, only light strings,or the warranty is void.

    Thanks for responding fast!

  • A couple of days ago,the Super, down the street threw out an FG-200. I grabbed it! I flipped it lefty. There's a slight roundness between the bridge & tail. Do you use light strings?? Do you use Bone Ivory pegs? How about the saddle? I think I might invest on clearing some of the issues w/ the buzzing & action. It has a great sound,& the price was right. Looks to be a 75' Ya sound great, I'm a blues guy myself. Harp is my strong suit, but I play blues on guitar w/ a passion.
  • Hi! I bought that FG200 new in 1975. You can get a great sound from this guitar - see the comments at Harmony Central. I use Ernie Ball 80/20 Bronze medium light 12-54 strings on the FG 200. The saddle is bone and I lowered the action by shaving the saddle down. The pegs are the original plastic. I hit the strings pretty hard because that way you can get a lot of resonance from the unpicked strings. Try it.

  • many thanks

  • Great!

  • great playing, i like it

  • thanks! glad you enjoyed it

  • I think I could have played better...but thanks anyway.

  • This sounds ace you have the picking and vocal down really well, really like it
