I agree that from a capitalist perspective where the price of Oil does not include the collosal costs to the environment, health care, Wars to control the crack, which are typically not paid for by the Oil producer but dumped on society as a whole(incl next generations), then indeed Oil is cheaper.
But if you added the billions for decontamination, GW disasters, health care, and wars, then the price at the pump would be a wee bit higher and might make renewable energy look like a bargain

They will, one would belive we consume gas and oil like there are no tomorrow, that's why we pay i.e over 2 Euros for 1 liter gasoline. Enviroment is extremely important to us, and the oil company are not allowed to just start drilling anywhere. The goverment owns over 70% of it, that way they know the company will oblige to their laws.
