Children aren't worthless, they're taken care of and educated so they can grow up to keep society going. Now traditionally, if a child became an adult and wasn't able to take care of himself, he would be left to die.
As for the elderly, they need to be taken care of to serve as an example of the reward a person gets after a lifetime of contributing to society.
Social Darwinism used to be the rule. What's "radical" to me is giving lazy people welfare.

They say they dont believe in hand outs, yet Zeena's father was broke his entire life. Even the house he lived in was given to him by his parents. Friends and relatives provided hand outs to him til the day he died. These people have a mental disorder, plain and simple.
