As soon as I can....I am finding me a big piece of wood and drilling holes in it! I love love love this idea. My little critters keep taking my feeders.
I strung up some cranberries and Cheerios about 2 weeks ago and hung them on my pine trees. Not one bird has touched them. I guess the birds we have don't eat cranberries. I also made bagels with peanut butter and raisins, I don't think they touched those either. I guess I will just keep filling the bird feeders. I guess we have picky birds or spoiled birds.
Google cranberries as birdfood and see what varieties like them. I imagine Baltimore orioles do. It just may take them awhile to figure out that they are available. Or perhaps that species has migrated away for the moment. They should all eat cheerios if you have snow and no bird food out other wise!
Gotta make some more of this!

I was wondering how do you serve the bird food because it's a sloppy consistency, do you put it into a container?
