Wanna know why? Push pits involves people pushing, so they have to be within close range. You'd want a lot of people close together in a push pit, not a big vaccant open spot.

However, when you have people who dance, you'd need the open space more. I don't see how that's too hard of a concept to grasp...

Well firstly, my friends in a band, the vocals, and he always says that and guess what, its a MOSH pit. 2ndly, some bands, such as ATR, do not like it when people get hurt. Mayhem Fest, guy got hurt from one of those damn shit things. They had to stop the show after that song to get the guy to the front. Great way to waste 3-5 mins huh?

And you do realize people do get hurt in push pits as well? Bigger pits people get knocked down and trampled, they still end up getting hit and there are still times when people get shoved into someone else and they get hurt/bleed and whatever. If bands don't want kids dancing to them then (gasp) don't write a shit ton of breakdowns...
