Well, one thing you could actually do is this: Anything that uses 4 AAs & runs on 6 volts, you could take one of these batteries & hook it up to the device (outboard of course) & it might be more cost effective depending on the price of the battery but it wouldn't be very portable. My suggestion would be to give the video a click of the mouse with the thumb pointing SOUTHWARD!
Well, one thig you could acctually do: Anything that takes 4 AAs & runs on 6 V, you could just hook up one of these (outboard of course) & it might be more cost effective if the price is right. But it wouldn't be very portable. Some practical joker with nothing better to do thought up this one. Give it the thumb pointing SOUTH!
The funny thing is powercell's are the things that look like huge silver tubes which are whats actually inside those 6volt batteries. It specifically says PowerCell on the front of that heavyDUTY battery.
what bothers me isn't that this video is fake, it's that it's called a 'hack'. This is NOT a hack. A hack is breaking into a system of some kind, be it hardware, software, or firmware and reprogramming it or rewiring it to perform a function it wasn't meant to do or exploit the system in some way. A hack isn't tearing open a battery. It's a mod at best
Why do people test this using different brands of batteries... It really pisses me off sometimes. If someone can do this with the same video he used above and it doesnt work then i'm sold...
Take 32 AA batteries. Make them into 4 piles of 8. Wire each pile of 8 in a parallel configuration. You now have 4 battery packs, each with 1.5V. Wire the packs together in a series. You now have one large battery pack with an output of 6V.
As long as they are wired in groups of 4, the output is always going to be 6V. Different manufacturers can make lantern batteries using whatever size cell they want, as long as the output is 6V. The ones with C or D cells are just another manufacturer
Everready batteries arent built like this. research some other YT videos before going out and buying a 6V battery to take apart. Look carefully in the video and see that there is no contact points underneath the lid for the batteries to be connected.
I spent my rent money on 6volt batteries and I fell for this crap- Now thanks to you I am living in a Ray-o-Vac Cardboard Packing box - on the street- thanks guys!
I'm impressed that they managed to say all that without busting up laughing. The way they made it with the bad voice over actually makes it more beliveable. Like one of those old 'educational' film that put you to sleep in chemistry class. Nice work, GAGFILMS. :)

@random246897531
32 AA all connected in series would be 48 volts, but if you connected
4 groups in series
8 batteries per group in parallel you would have 6 volts.

Yeah, 4 big batteries equals 6 volts (1.5v x 4 = 6v).

If this was true it would be a 48 volt lantern battery. But seeing as it is only 6 volts well...I think you get the point
Jmaxxz 3 years ago
They are parallel in groups of six, the four groups of six sells are then connected in series. 4x 1.5 makes 6 volts :)
