Music schools DO eat lives.  It's sort of a beautiful and terrible relationship - you totally love it and yet it can drive you absolutely crazy. I had to meticulously schedule my time just to make sure I had a semi-decent sleep/meal schedule.

I'm glad you're enjoying contra dancing. I haven't tried that yet, but I love to swing dance.

I have to say I'm pretty stoked about having some Wrock bands coming to my university. I was only introduced to Wrock last semester, so I'm pretty excited that we've got a few bands to (sort of) end Harry Potter week on campus (I believe we're having a Yule Ball the day after so that's the last event). XD

And good luck with the composing and such =) And my aunt actually does contra dancing a lot (I went once, it was fun, but not something I'm really into)

I haven't done contra dancing before, but I loved the semester of Latin dance (salsa, rhumba, merengue) I took a while back. haven't seen anywhere round here that teaches contra tho.
