  • Do you know these two singers' name?

  • @FloriaTosca90 Credits roll at the end. Papageno, Eamonn Dougan; Pamina, Pamela Hay

  • Very beautiful voices..but very forced, it would be nice if they put phrasing higher than individual pitches! It's very nice for an English language interpretation, usually the only good ones are German!

  • I love the dialog translation, but the German for the actual duet is so much more beautiful.

  • What accent does that Papageno has? He sounds slightly Scottish to me, no?

  • This Papageno is Irish.

  • Irish. And being Irish, I find that slightly offensive.

  • Offended? On what conceivable grounds? Because the singer is Irish, and therefore performs Papageno with an Irish accent? Why on earth shouldn't a gamekeeper be Irish? What is wrong with people today that they seem to take offense at anything and everything. Pitiful and ridiculous.

  • Sorry. I meant that in the most light hearted way possible. I didn't mean I was offended that Papageno is Irish. I think its great. I was suggesting that I could have been offended that someone would consider a Scottish accent to be like and Irish Accent. Again, in the most light hearted way possible. I too get annoyed that people argue so much over the internet

  • I want only to support your organisation. I think you create marvellous productions. Particularily this one. Again I apologise if my comment seemed a bit offensive toward you but I meant no offense what so ever.

  • Thanks Leporello for clearing up the misunderstanding. And for your kind remarks about Bel Canto Opera productions.

  • does anyone know the range of this song, not to bothered about the top note but how low does it go? thanks

  • I'm pretty sure that the lowest note would be a C4 (middle Do) at 4:29 and 4:38. Anyway, I'll check the score later.

  • Yes, this has the range of almost 2 octaves. The lowest note being middle C and the highest note being the High B flats cadenzas. And they took a lot such liberty with the translations.

  • what language is this again?

  • German but an English version!x

  • This is the most charming version i've ever seen! So witty and realistic! This is how comic opera should be! :D

  • I think this adaptation is adorable.

  • what translation is this. im doing this duet now, and i'm not singing these words

  • See hughdrover's reply 3 comments down.

  • splendidly sung.

  • Lovely performace, I wouldve liked to of seen this version, it looks charming! :) An irish accent suits Papageno! XD Is there any way I can get in contact with the translator of the lyrics? =3

  • Tom Boyd wrote this English version. You can contact him through the Bel Canto Opera website at Belcanto-opera dot com.
