@chescarino In your world, perhaps. Right now the S1000RR, RC8R, 1098R, CBR1000RR and RSV4 are way, way, way better. With the new ZX10 to be introduced shortly, it's probably going to end up even lower in the rankings. It can compete with the GSX-R, but apart from that, not so much. Of course, the point is moot for 99,9% of riders out there, but still. I agree on the notion that Jap bikes are boring, which they are not. I've had both japs and euros, and they all make me smile.

The only problem with these European machines is that most of them perform just as well as the Japanese Suzys, Kawas, Hondas, and YMHs. The only diff is that the price of one of these babies can get 3 Japs of the same performance and quality, maybe even with a little more econimicality. The only reason why a civilian would ever get one of these would be that the lucky dude is either mentally unsound or uses 100buck bills to roll up his cigars. Daily.

@zohanthecspro I suppose the character comes from the element of knowing that with a european twin there will be an element of unreliability somewhere down the line.......whereas a jap machine will plod on indefinately doing its business yet no more giving little or no feedback to the rider. Yam wasnt changed because mileage at 16k miles in 10 years whereas rc8 3600 miles already since ownership...1400 of those in last 4 days....but i wont be keeping this one for 10 years i can guarantee it.

But based on your statistics I did a little bit of calculation and came up with the conclusion that your KTM does, in fact guzzle more petrol than the Yammy. Maybe its coz the RC8 is a higher spec machine, or you use it more often than the Nippon, but isnt that a little risky? You buy an unpredictable machine that has an uncertain future and has less miles to the gallon, but kicks ass.

And the debate that jap bikes are quicker is true in stock form but not by much. If you have the money you can do what I did. By a new RC8 when they are first released then a month later they release the RC8R. Annoyed I payed $6500 AUD to purchase the RC8R Race kit for the RC8. I have seen these race and they pull away from v4 bikes

Fully adjustable suspension front and rear, adjustable subframe, tells you how hot your tyres are and how much PSI they have if you have the attachment. Brembo brakes front and rear, WPS suspension and steering dampner, even tells you the temperature outside via sensors. Jap bikes use cheap everything. And all these things i have explained are STOCK. And jap bikes are like assholes, everyone has one.

Im 12 years old and my momma bought me a Ducati 999s for my 10th birthday. It's a sweet piece of machinery but I am not allowed to ride it till i learn how to get off mah tricycle. So im trying very hard right now, and hope my feet touch the ground (or even the slipper clutch) when i sit on my Ducky after im done getting used to riding on 2 wheels.
