Well, as your typical Saxon pig, I hardly got a word of what he was saying, so I can only comment on how it sounds. I'm not sure how proficient Mr. Lyon is at speaking Cornish but Common sounded quite static whilst Modern had a more appealing rhythm but sounded some what repetitive.
Either way the language sounded nice enough, heard a little when I spent a fortnight in Cornwall, bloody gorgeous part of Britain!

@MrJondabong No. This should be taught EVERYWHERE in ENGLAND! This is a great language. When i close my eyes and listen i think of the great Britons that roamed the fresh air and nature with druids ect. Before the Anglo Saxons chased them into Wales and Cornwall. Great language! I'm getting sick of English. Start a campaign to revive it!
English, come, visit, stay a while but remember, just like Scotland, Wales and Ireland, it isn't England ! It is part of the British Isles but never England.

@Pro13east I've started learning a few words and phrases from the ipod utalk app and from the internet. You'll be suprised, when you have a vested personal interest in learning the language, i.e. when it's part of your heritage, your brain tends to open up and take it in much more easily, like you do when you learn to speak as a child; rather than if you were learning a language for fun that was nothing to do with you like spanish or something.
@Pro13east just need other ppl to speak it with you..................you forget the modern cornish speakers like rod lyon are still learners themselves....its will become much smoother with evolution. At least learn some basic phrases to pass the time :)....english cornish just communication formats....life is for the challenge ;oP
@Pro13east lol, well it is a different language belonging to a different language family, even learning Dutch is easier it's at least in the same family as English
@MASBRO1 I think you'll find that all Cornish people have been on these isles for the length of time that they have been alive. Whatever their ancestors did is irrelevant. By the way, I am 100% 'Cornish'. It just pisses me off that the rest of the country see us as pitchfork-wielding inbreds. I'm not "proud to be Cornish" because I have done nothing to be proud of, I was just born here.
@rebablebableh yes, they live longer than most wth all the fresh air and clean living, god bless the Cornish, the rugby, cider, surfing and not forgetting the pasties
@MASBRO1 You clearly have not been in Cornwall for any length of time exceeding two days. Most of cornwall is an urban shithole rife with stabbing and drug dealing.
I saw another Cornish video saying "Don't let a Welshman know more of you're language than you do" so as a Welshman i decided to put it to the test, I find the common Cornish much easier to understand than the modern Cornish. The first sentence in common Cornish sounds very much like the welsh sentence: Mi glywais ar radio Cernew heddiw fod dyn yn "place name " ar ddydd sadwrn......
Eh? XD
