He's right about Canada we, (the US) are lucky to have such good upstairs neighbors. There are many very thoughtful and talented Canadian musicians who've improved the music scene greatly over the years.
Burton, that's all well and good...but Canada is caught up in the globalist takeover just as much as the US...make no mistake. Look at the G20 in Toronto, and tell me about 'freedom', you hump!
US citizens have no control over what the politicians and President decides. Yes, I would kiss the ground too, if we werent in a war, but we are. So, please don't rub it in. I might add, that if Canada were attacked, the USA would be the FIRST to come to their aid. We are ALWAYS helping and rescuing the rest of the world. Yes, let's kiss the ground when there's PEACE. Be glad of it. I hope we ALL know PEACE once again VERY soon. GOD BLESS THE USA.
@TheInvincibleViolet We're also ALWAYS invading (either militarily or covertly) other countries as well. Whether it be in the Middle East, South America, WHEREVER our "INTERESTS" lie. Anyone who thinks the U.S. is ALWAYS the good guy, is living in a fantasy world. God Bless THE WHOLE WORLD!
The Guess Who has always been sort of a silent giant to me. I always hear their songs, but I don't connect the dots right away. They just have so many famous and great songs. I know they're big, but they deserve to be even more so. I don't think they get the recognition they deserve at all. Maybe it's because they're are Canadian and kind of want to stay out of the mega spotlight. They are just really awesome is what I'm saying!
America could learn a few things from its friends to the North...but your too arrogant to do so..Your nation of violent humanity....nice example to the world...your day will come.
I'm from the U.S. and yet I AGREE 100% with your message!!!
But you have to realize something. What you do not like about the US is not completely non-existent in Canada, nor is the US free of the kinds of people and land you speak of.
The US has its local clean happy havens in places like Vermont and the Coast of Oregon and some of the mountain towns in Colorado. We have a CLEAR sizable population within the US that has absolutely NO eye-to-eye with the CNN world.
Don't forget that we are afforded more rights as a citizen of a state first THEN as a citizen of a nation. I don't think people from other countries understand the Bill of Rights and the the fact that we are all citizens of 50 individual states first and formost with indvidual autonomy and laws that can't be trumped on by the federal government.
They're not shitting over the USA. They're simply proud Canadians. Burton lives part time in LA and both have said in interviews how much they love the States.
Sounded like a slap at the USA where this clown made his money. Musicians should just shut up and sing. Most of Canada lives within 200 miles of the US border. Jerk Off
@GeorgiaMGT Throughout history, it has been the artist's responsibility to comment. As for me, I'm tired of hearing people say that artists should "shut up." I say, speak out! Listen to the lyrics of this song! This song was banned in "certain" parts of the U.S. in 1970. They ain't Pat Boone. They never were. Don't like it? Don't listen to it. I don't like Ted Nugent or Toby Keith, so I don't listen to them..., and I don't watch their clips on YouTube either.
I love Canada , Living in the US is like living in the Hell , so many lies , too much violence! I love Canada! my heart belongs to Canada! i wanna move to Canada and become a Canadian citizen!
My faveourite part of this performance was when Burton Cummings said '' Turn on CNN any given day of the week, day or night anytime. Watch CNN for 15 minutes and when you are done go outside and kiss the ground of Canada. believe me this one of the lasr places in the world where human beings can live like human beings. Whatever god you pray to, pray to him and her that you are in Canada.''
Being Canadian is something to truly be proud of!!! I LOVE BEING CANADIAN!!!
@aaronracine Hey moron, Canada held Britain's hand through the entire thing. My grandpa fought in Normandy, his brothers at Dieppe and Italy. The US entered the war in 1941, but Canada joined in 1939 with Britain. Oh by the way, WWI. Research the account of German soldier and it will probably say that Canadian soldiers were the most feared soldiers on the battlefield.
When are you guys going to come down here and annex us? We need help, big time.

I know I should stay away from mirrors, but Burton has not aged well. Only problem with Canada is that its run by liberals and women.
