@RedMoon9 Sasuke does not kill Itachi. He dies because he was very sick and his last resort of using Susanno to relieve Sasuke of Orochimaru speeds up his already weakened sick body. Had he wanted to kill Sasuke he would. Infact right before they start the real fight, when they are back to back you see Itachi's tears fly as he moves. He was crying because he loves Sasuke to much.

Itachi held back against Sasuke, the disease didn't do much except speed up the process in which Sasuke would "kill" Itachi.

Itachi wanted to die, and have Sasuke life his life blaming Itachi for what happened to the Uchiha Clan, not Konoha, otherwise he'd hate Konoha, and Itachi loves Konoha, he doesn't want Sasuke hating it.

He also gave Sasuke his Mangekyou so he could kill Tobi upon viewing him for the first time, and kill the only other person who knew about the truth of the Uchiha Clan.
