  • are you guys canadians?

  • @laxvarga22 North Dakotans. From about as north as you can go in North Dakota.

  • Pack-a-Puch it

  • I woulda held that thing like a bazooka

  • @JazzLover747 We tried that, shot straight out of our arms :)

  • @aerofan897 hahaha! thats awesome!!!!! you shoulda taped THAT and put it on YouTube!! :D

  • Hey, check out what I've been doing with hho. The Hydrogun is a real spitfire.

  • 2:43 ACTON STARTS

  • that was crazy!!!!

  • yeah teenage

  • cool

  • yes it is douche

  • you have no idea what you're talking about

  • im building a rocket that blows up when it hits the ground.

  • estes rockets with a war head luanched out a tube lmao

  • that would make awsome mortar xD

  • shoot it into the up into the air at a 90* angle

  • make he hold it like a rocket lancher

  • do you think that thick pvc pipe would work just as well as the drive shaft

  • It works the same, but PVC is pretty dangerous to use. We used to have a PVC pipe but it kept exploding when we would fire the gun.

The problem with that is that PVC doesn't show up in x-rays, so surgeons have to perform "exploratory surgery".

    Use metal if you can.

  • exploratory surgery... sounds fun...

  • @aerofan897

Same with me : My first PVC tube blew up in my hands, it turned into sharp shrapnel. I finally used PVC anyway : but reinforced it by sliding straight "coupling" tubes (they're tougher that the pipe itself), so I had 2 layers. I also reinforced the bottom by pouring concrete and adding screws through holes before the stuff had hardened (otherwise your canon might be more dangerous at the back than it is at the front).

  • you just have to get piping with a high psi ratting, like i use piping that's rated at 600psi

  • I use PVC for mine, never blown up. Our old one did with gunpowder though :\

  • what is the barrel made out of

  • It is a steel driveshaft cover from an old truck.

  • P.O.D. BOOM!!!!!

  • Man i thought it was safe to watch

    I GOT A SEIZURE

  • Where do u buy dry ice?

  • You can usually find it at any store that carries frozen foods. Many times they will give it to you for free, if you ask nicely.

  • Ha! "Pvc does not show up in x-rays!?" I did not know that! When my potato canon worked, once I did not get the rear cap on the expansion chamber on good enough and it blew off into my stomach. I had a cap imprint bruise for a week. My friends laughed about it. (That is what friends are for.) I guess now I gotta 'ninja' a drive shaft off my neighbors truck and cut it up! ;)Hope he does not recognize my canon!!!!!!

  • Good idea to have the butt end of the cannon on the ground. If the cannon can recoil like that it robs energy from the shot(and you could take your face off...but that is secondary). Is that a metal pipe? Like the high end 'custom' lettering!

  • Yep it is a metal pipe, it was formerly a rusty driveshaft off an old truck. We had a cap welded on, power sanded it, gave it a fresh coat of paint and added some lettering.

In this gun's previous incarnations, we used PVC pipe but it became far too dangerous with the increasing strength of our dry ice bombs. The end of the gun frequently exploded, so we switched to metal to avoid requiring any exploratory surgery (PVC doesn't show up in x-rays).

  • psh, works way better when you use 2 water bottles, makes the projectile much more predictable with just enough clearance inside the barrel, then you dont have to ram the shells either, safety first.

  • still the best video

  • hey guys when you put in the bottle with the dry ice put the cap in first so more pressure builds up in the butt of the can before it explodes

  • would be really funny if we hear some one screams in distance after he shoots it.. ehehe

  • Oh my god my eye aaaa!!! lol

  • you got that machete from Canadian Tire! i knoe cuz its 12bucks and i have one.

  • nice imagine if the patato is more small and the bottle

  • can anyone read that dark blue text on a black background? C'mon guys wtf

  • Sorry about that, this was originally designed for a normal sized TV. I just happened to find it years later and put it on YouTube. I'll make a new one someday...

  • back in new york city 1970s we use lighter fluid. make a 2 chamber bazzoka type barrel. spray some lighter fluid in the first chamber wait a few seconds so vapors could really mix with air and thru a small hole at the end put a lit match. shit had a kick! we use a basebal for the projectile. street gangs also use it for weapons

  • wow good ass idea. cant belive i didnt think of tha. all i do is make dry ice bombs and potatoe guns

  • where can u get the dry ice and that barrel u guys used?? pliss respond!!!

  • The dry ice can be found at any store that sells frozen food. The frozen food comes in containers that are packed with it to keep the food cold. If you ask around, you can probably find it for free.

As for the barrel, we made that ourselves. We found an old driveshaft to a truck which was about 4", and welded a cap onto the end of it.

  • thanks. anyways awsome trick u guys did there XP. and how far did the potatoe got to

  • I LOVE THE SONG ITS P.O.D

  • many sporting good shops that specialize in hunting and fishing make it for the public to buy.

  • wow that was sweet

  • you can usually get it from publix.

  • Most likely. We've never stuck around to see what happens.

  • where do ya get the dry ice

  • Any place that sells food usually gets dry ice with their shipments. If you as nicely, they might let you have it for free.

  • stop talking just get to the explosions just skip to 2:16

  • i like the secondary objective the most.

  • CO2 does not melt. Dry ice doesn't melt. Its a thing called sublimination, when it goes straight to Gas from a solid.

  • thanks for that there science lesson...

  • Dry ice is Co2 frozen. It is arguable if it melts or if it doesn't.

  • There is no argument about it it is in the group of chemicals that skip the liquid state

  • that was cool soooo cool ty for maming stuff like this

  • can some one make a vid with a dry ice bomb going off under water and capture it on film? im gonna do it but i dont have a camera yet...

  • hey can you just tell me basicly how it works, cause i cant hear the voices i can only hear the background sound i just need to know how the dry ice exploads,,

so does it just expload normaly or do you have to cut a hole or anything????

    sorry ,,,,,thnx

  • The dry ice is just frozen carbon dioxide. When you put it in bottle with water, it rapidly melts and turns into C02 gas, which produces the pressure in the bottle to make the explosion. So simply put, just put dry ice in a bottle with water, put the lid on tight, and stand back.

  • potatoes and unions, lol. im laughing when the guy was like "u didnt see anything right?" and it exploed

the thing is like a bazooka. its portable, and u can hold it in ur hand. u just shoot it urself

  • hey can i put a handle on the pipe and use it 4 paintballs and use it 4 paintball rain

  • wat was the barrel made of?

  • It was originally the steel drive shaft of an old truck. We welded a metal cap on the end of it, power brushed the whole thing (it was very rusty), then gave it a fresh coat of black paint.

Our original design used PVC pipe, but the explosions were too violent and the PVC cap frequently broke off. We were concerned about getting plastic shrapnel, so we switched to steel.

  • I made a tennis ball shot out of a PVC pipe u should check it out...

it was for out science experiment, but unfortunately we got a "B" because out teacher hates us, but whatev lol

  • Cool i didnt know anyone else had come up with the idea of making a dry ice cannon. all videos i have seen of dry ice and of potato cannons i have never once seen someone make some thing like this.

  • wtf... a big gun 4 dry ice...and a potato?

  • i lov this thing!

  • Wow , that's impresive , Nice job.

  • nice dry cannon action there! I'm from new zealand check out our dry ice cannon action: "the dry ice cannon project", yeah were are alittle less safety conscious and um, yeah we had abit of an accident with one of the launches... but yeah good to meet other dry ice cannoner's so too speak.

  • that was totally sweet.............

  • hahahahahahaha that guy in the passenger seat looks freakishly like arnold shwartznegger*!!!!

    * I think I spelled his last name correctly

  • you guy are terrorists, but i like it wel done

  • you can buy dry ice at some walmarts and some grocery stores

  • were did you got the dry ice dude?

  • yawn

  • what accent is that, its famimliar but i cant put my finger on it

  • Midwestern? We're from North Dakota...

  • melbong~~

  • Immagine what would of happened if you secured the cannon!!! Prob would of gotten about a 1/3 more distance because it would counteract the recoil which would cause more pressure or force exerted on the projectile!!! Brilliant guys!!!

  • its not SMOKE idiots.

  • jesus christ whitehitler youre such an idiot....ofcourse its not smoke, they know that, you goddamn frikkin retard!

  • AWSOME

  • u almost shot it at them!

  • That, was awesome!

I did something like that- I put dry ice in a barrel, poured 2 liters of water in there, taped a pipe to the end, and pit a potatoe on top of the pipe. Instead of flying, it blew up. you should try it.

  • ur footage = weak . . .

  • cool... 1 question were do u get dry ice for fucking criygn out loud

  • krogers and walmart and gas stations

  • like any kind of supermarket. most places require you to be 18 because they think kids will use it for reasons other than cooling. who would do that...

  • k thx

  • where u get dry ice

  • do you use a metal cannon or a plastic one and is one side of the cannon blocked up so the bombs go in a spacific direction

  • Metal. One side has a cap welded on.

  • that is freakin awesome

  • call up future weapons sweet

  • Boom by P.O.D.

  • how u make cannon

  • It's a 4 inch driveshaft that was originally part of an old truck. We welded a cap on the end of it, power brushed it, then painted it black.

It replaced the original cannon, which was made from PVC pipe with a PVC cap glued on the end. The dry ice bombs generated so much force that it blew the end off several times, so we decided to move to someting a little more durable (and safer).

  • what song is that? at the beggining and the end

  • how far did it go?

  • dry ice powder bites man it hurt so bad when my stupid friend gave me powder to blow and it blew in about 2 seconds and hurt like hell on my hand

  • that was cool

  • 10 seconds of REAL action... -.-

  • nice

  • I like potatos also.

  • Damn with dry ice u need fucking sandbags! That thing kicks like a mule!

  • The recoil is very strong, especially when firing heavy things like rocks or vegetable cans. We had to brace it against something solid otherwise it would fly out of our hands.

  • is the recoil relli big?

  • nice video almost like a show or something and

    I like potatos
