Believe it or not this is my car. The reason it had to be held was that the tires were just grabbing traction to easy for whatever reason on that parking lot and my friend wanted me to make the tires shoot some smoke for the video. The ebrake isn't that powerful either so that's what we came up with.
what !!! man i have a Honda civic EX 07. i am thinking of converting it. what i was going to do is buy a honda civic si front clip then put it in my current car. but i really want a K24. so what are your suggestions?
dude i have a question!! we do that swap k24 bottom end k20 head!! but when we run the car the vtec doesn`t kick !! we need some help some ideas why doesn`t works!!! thanks
hey if u guys are so consernd with customer satisfaction imagine youtube viewers as your customers and give us all the details about this car like numbers which block you used ect... thank you
This was asked earlier but didn't see an answer to which K24 bottom end it was.
I love having the K24 bottom end too. Dropped a K24A2 bottom end in my RSX-S with K20A2 head (with Toruku cams, which I don't think are around anymore). Feels great!
that is exactly why i'm doing this. it is cheaper than the k20a or a2 but i wanna use a k20a-r headand build up the k24a block more for boost and some aftermarket i/h/e and cams kpro and supercharge it fuck yeah throw on some slicks and wave goodbye...fuck yeah!!!!!!!
Yeah, it is a pretty cheap upgrade. Blowing up my K20A2 was the best thing to happen to my RSX. :) Found a K24A2 bottom end for $400.
But for the 06+ Si, there's FlashPro instead of K-Pro. Hondata has a little gadget for the new Si that lets you reflash the factory ECU which is great!
The CRV's head gaskets are closer to the RSX ones while the TSX head gaskets are closer to the 06+ Si's. The gaskets are matched to the channels in the head, not the block.
The cost of a K24 bottom end is cheaper than a supercharger or turbo kit. Plus, what's stopping him from adding one later on?
Hell, I bought a K24A2 for $400 with just a bent rod. And all I did was buy a used set of TSX rods and pistons to fix it. I wasn't even planning on upgrading. I spun a bearing in my K20 so it was more a repair job. Already had K-Pro.
i know exactly what im talking about. IF he has the k24a1 crv block they are weak. k24a2 rods are stronger but revving a 2.4L to 8k is eqivelent to revving a k20 to 9k
the k24a2 rods are stronger but the a1 rods arnt weak, i rev a stock a1 block to 8k and make 529whp, ive been boosting and beating on this engine for a few years k24a1, k20a2 both stock
that sounds crazy..I'll get a vid of mine up here. 06 si with k24 swap+turbo all work done in 8 days from now....its been a month now(cause of parts) but after hearing yours I can't wait and your not even boosted!!
To the guys talking about Hondata. On the 25th Hondata is getting to make the new reflash off of this car. And adusky's right you don't lose any of the high rpms. It drives the same as it did before just a lot faster. I know for sure because that's my car.
Unless you're driving the car around town. Having the power down low is much, much better. Also, if you build the bottom end it will handle the higher revs.
true... but i'm an rpm freak... i love revving the crap out of my Si past the 8k mark... and after tuning it will be past the 9k mark... u have to do a lot of work to a k24 to get it to rev that high due to the larger stroke...
IMO the low-end power of the Si isn't that bad... but that's just me, i've heard ppl say it sucks for them... i don't have a problem with it...
I don't know. My Prelude has a 2.2 and I beat the crap out of Si's all day long. I get the jump and keep pulling from there. I shift at about 7500rpms. I haven't had a single 2.0 Si keep up with me.
My Prelude only has a K&N filter.
My Civic revs high as hell. No tq though. I am a torque fiend. Torque does win races.
i've never lost to an Si with comparable mods... i've beaten Si's with I/E, all while i was 100% STOCK... my boy has a lude and he gave me the best run from a lude... he had (at the time) K&N Filter, World Sport exhaust, Spoon ecu... me=stock 06Si, and i would get him every time except up really high, when i throw 5th...
Torque IMO is overrated, i had a 98Hatch w/H22A1 in it and it was really torquey but lacked the higher rpms that i wanted...
Yea. Certain cars don't need much torque. But in my eyes the new Si does, since it is a rather heavy vehicle. I like the H22 motor, but it is a rather heavy beast. I'd love to drop a K24/20 into it. Having the extra cog in the transmission would help on the highway, plus it would benifit from the torque because it is almost the same weight as the Si.
I love my 2012 si

how much would a swap like that cost? and how much is a k24?

seems like a waste .i wonder if he could had done somethign wiht the k20 motor like turbo it or somthing .
buggingout67 2 years ago
definently not a waste. its about the power of an s2k with a whole lot more torque. much better than a turbo IMO

what's the redline on that thing?i heard if you do a k24/20 build it won't be able to rev above 8000+ like the stock k20z3 can.

exactly, k24 rods are weak as fuck, oil pump sucks ass too. NOt hating but just saying

acutallyl yeah I heard even bolt ons aren't as effective as the RSX K20 because of the new emissions shit
