@apollonael are you running skype or teamviewer? usually instant messaging applications use port 80, you'll need to exit any of these in order to install properly
I am no longer maintaining this video. I don't use XAMPP and try not to use Windows anymore. Please take it for what it's worth but if you have questions, ask Google (he's always listening).
I wonder about the updater, is it needed. I have been told by the support team from DYNDNS.com that either run the updater ot set up your router to run as updater. If both are running you will recieve an error message that IP address was not able to update. Good luck
i spend weeks to this by myself!! and now i see all in a vid =( great job!
Just a thing.. i don't have the wonderful "port forwarding" on my gateway panel screen.. have i to set the internal and external port 192.168.1.1 ON "virtual server" ??
Thanks for the suggestion parkgore. I did this a year and a half ago for school so won't be updating it. The funny part is that it's done really well on YouTube but I didn't get a good grade on it.
Instead of making people type out the URL, you should post it in the information box, i had to re-listen to you read it out 3 times to get it in haha... i know its just laziness, but for you to do it it will always stay there, it speeds up the process and its a great help as was your tutorial, thank you very much.
@natmaxex If you actually try to use this for a production web server, you're an idiot. This would be good if you wanted to show clients what you've been working on and don't have access to a separate web server.
@natmaxex You should be able to access your computer from another, that's the point of DynDNS. If you aren't able to, it may be something with your ISP blocking ports.
Where can i get the info for part 5:04, where can i find my admin and password info. I dont have a linksys router all I got is a modem from Sky broadband.
You have to realize that 99% setting up a server on your home network violates your ISP's terms of service. For both Comcast and Verizon, you CANNOT host ANY type of server using a residential connection. Be careful!!!
I did all that successfully but now all i want to do is redirect the user to another page/directory because right now he's able to see the directories (folders) i have in "htdocs"
my problem are everyting will work holocms dcr etc but portforwarding dont will work i go to 192.168.0.1 and i typ my username an pass in in click on portforward typ me ip in bv.192.168.0.123 and the port 80 and i reboot my pc and then i go to my ip but it wont work

Cool tutorial. I use XAMPP on my local machine to test things out before I implement them on my production web server.
Thanks,

hello i have an easy question.
I did all that successfully but now all i want to do is redirect the user to another page/directory because right now he's able to see the directories (folders) i have in "htdocs"
for example:
folder1
folder2
xampp
I want him to be redirected to folder1/index.php
What file do i need to edit for that?

What problems are you having. The video has some elapsed time and chunks missing because of Camtasia so I may be able to elaborate for you.

It sounds to me like your ISP may be blocking port 80. Try forwarding port 80 to port 81. Let me know if this works.

i have portforwarding 80 81 20 21 3306 but he dont will work
