What I don't understand is lets say at 6:04 of the vid we see two switches with a bridge between them, why can't you just connect the two switches using cross over cable? why do you need a bridge?
@skewkus Basically you cant, because ARP requests for the final destination hosts wont be answered by the intermediary switched, so they appear offline. There are workarounds for this but its much more complex.
setting up a bridge worked fine in windows XP but when i tried it in windows server 2003 it did not seem to transfer any data any idea how ot fix this?
I like it... This dude is SMART not like the poor "moron" who is calling him a moron. I think the presentation is good enough to grant him more respect.

hi, i have wifi internet from outside my brother home, iam using d-link usb wifi card,
now i want to use my computer like bridge to my wireless router.
the internet come from outside to my computer and from my computer to my wireless router using rj-45, for my laptop in other room, do you have any help please ?, thanx.
@hawkfrost282 Well your the one to talk, for one thing it's "FYI" not "Fyl" and second your channel a fail. No subscribers, no videos, and no channel comments. You don't even have a face icon so why are you hating on a dude who from another country, not raied to speak english, it's his actcent, he can't help it. It's people like you who put people down when their actually TRYING unlike your peice of shit.
if i have 2 routers. one in the basement and 1 in the attic is there any way to link them so they broadcast the same exact signal so it will be extending my signal instead of having to connect to both separate routers whenever im closer to one.
A switch is a bridge with more ports, that is usually used to connect hosts not networks.
You can use a switch as a bridge if you connect a network to each port instead of a single host or pc.
Most switches and bridges are layer 2. You need a layer 3 switch or router to change from one type of network connection to another. And adsl modem is a layer 3 bridge.
I think we should appreciate each of these guys.
