  • I'm rather perplexed by his statement that you can put a piece of fuel rod in your pocket without risking harm.

If that's the case, why do they feel the need to enclose the spent fuel in concrete, deep below in geographically stable ground not to be touched for the next 10.000 years or so?

  • lmfao, go gnaw on a fuel rod.

  • The host is too dismissive. Its true that the alpha radiation released during 235 fission is not harmful in low doses, unless ingested, however the fission process does not end at that point. The beta decay of the resulting elements can pose an external danger to humans. The main danger is with the long term storage of the uranium and other byproducts. If they made it into our water supply that could be a significant problem. The final issues is when things happen to operational plants like in japan

  • alpha - beta - gamma

  • Youtube needs more Dr. Wattenburg videos, this guy is great.

  • the only idiot i can see s this condescending fool wattenburg

  • expertly debunked my ass.

we all know hills of granite have nuclear radioactivity, people etc

its a different thing. i have been to within a few miles of chernobyl, i have spent time in childrens homes in the area, i have seen the devastation. chernobyl will be too dangerous to rehabit for hundreds if not thousands of years. the US almost had the same, three mile island. also genetic deformations stay through the bloodline. as it does in the food chain.

  • @UkraineTV Amen. It's funny how the only people they every put on the phone with dickheads like Wattenburg are people without the intellect to knock his ass down.

  • @jjobie Yea that's it, it's a conspiracy. It's actually because Dr. Wattenburg is correct.

  • @jjobie Do you have any ideas to how we can replace coal as a main energy source?

  • @UkraineTV There was no containment center around Chernobyl. That would would have changed everything for the plus side.

  • @UkraineTV well said

  • Bernie Ward was certainly wrong about a few things, but on this he may have hit the nail on the head: When the time to enlist for battle arrives, the chicken-hawk clings tightly to its' perch(just ask Mr.Oswalt ot the California EPA). Is that clucking we hear doc? Or is it the knocking of chicken-hawk knees?

  • True, it's still early, but it will be interesting to see if Dr.Bill steps up his criticism(even if a bit less venomously) when or if Chu fails to toe the nuclear line. Notice, too, how those he deems as otherwise decent fellows(Arnold), are never evil leftist scoundrels or nincompoops, but simply well-intentioned innocents being misled or duped or pressured by the all-powerful sierra club. Why is it that Al Gore or Nancy Pelosi aren't dupes of second-rate scientists?

  • Pretty sad when you have to troll Youtube comment sections. LOL

  • @GotIt123 Yes, it is sad. But what can I do? I'm such a KGO radio listening loser.

  • The usual vitriol Dr.Bill spews on the likes of the sierra club or Al Gore or Nancy Pelosi seems to be" missing in action" when it come to the new energy secretary, Steven Chu. As usual, Dr.Bill avoids identifying and targeting any specific scientist, but instead, reserves his vitriol for the non-scientist politician or civilian. When faced with his scientific equal(or in this instance, his superior), our brave doctor loses his nerve. Infact, he becomes down-right cordial and deferential.

  • David, you're stupid!
