  • My frame screw was a little tight on delivery...(wouldn't open all the way) got me thinking that I would like to see a thumb stud on the blade (like a kershaw vapor) for additional opening options. (is a pain to have to finger-grab the un-notched blade to deploy) Clip is functional, but finish doesn't really integrate with the knife...looks stuck on there, but Does work! LOVE the blue micarta on the Premonition...nice resolution on the flowing line!....:) good review Nutn!

  • Great video! I recently caught the "blade" bug, I bought a CRKT RIPPLE (Walmart version). After a day, I ordered both the Gerry McGinnis Summa, and the Gerry McGinnis Premonition. I can't wait! Kudos to this young fella!

  • Just bought the Premonition and it is beautiful but it is dull just like Nutn's! Not impressed, and yes I know it is a cheaper knife but come on where is quality control? Bought the Drifter a year ago and loved it, came in sharp. Not sure what happened with the Premonition.

  • One reason I love my Ontario Rat 1, my spyderco tenacious/resilience, buck vantages, and DEFINITELY my kershaw skyline. All awesome knives, and all less than 40 bucks

  • All of my CRKT's have been dull apart from my M21-SFG and my Pazoda. Even though I accept that they are cheaper to buy, I still feel that having a good sharp edge should be standard on all knives, cheap or not.

  • I got the premonition after N&F's rec....I really like it....

  • @kalenberg11 I also call them crickets and I thought I was the only one!

  • what do you think about the CRKT minimalist knives? i love most CRKT knives... awesome vid bro... keep rocking dude.

  • McGinnis Premonition data point: I love the Veff serrations, but I bent two of the serration teeth when doing moderate edc (I was cutting some sturdy clear packaging plastic, and hooked the serrations into it) I still think its a cool design, however I am a little dissapointed that the tips of the serrations practically folded (a tiny bit) when coming into contact with something I feel steel should have no problem making quick work of.

    just my two cents

    -Solanum20

  • Am I the only one that calls CRKT knives "crickets"? I think they are awesome knives. I carried my M16-12z for my entire enlistment (including 2 deployments) and it is still my EDC. Very good edge retention.

  • @kalenberg11 That's what I call them, and Nutn keeps saying "what?" every time I do..lol Nutn gave me a Shrimp, and I just love it. -- Veri

  • Just picked up a premonition for 35$ at my local surplus store, it is RAZOR sharp (I could shave with it) Its slick looking and I was surprised at how light it is. They had summas for 44$

  • @MSvento06 Dude amazon $19 for the prem

  • Thank you Nutn great reveiw, just started to see if i can get one to ship here =] ROCK ON TNP

  • those knives are beautiful they got curves like a women they flow just right i want one

  • I first noticed the Summa on Amazon a while back. Love at first sight! The exact design I was looking for--not scary, tactical, or with added crap (I have the satin blade not black). It's been my EDC for a while. It's perfect except It has a lot of parts & screws. Be sure to have Blue LocTite when putting it back together after cleaning. Thread Lock is required to properly adjust the handle-to-blade tightness as well on these kind of knives. Thanks

  • i got myself a premonition after watching this review. great knife, great price & i love carrying it as it is so light. like yours, the plain part of the blade wasn't very sharp (it is now tho).. however the veff serrations were very sharp! those serrations are great for cutting thick cardboard. well done on the video sir.

  • dull knife, force to tip down carry, no traction, made in china - No thank You this time!

  • Just bought a Premonition based on your review... just love that blade shape and the blue and black scales... Damn you Nutnfancy I started watching your gun reviews a few years back and now I've added a serious blade addiction to the mix and my wallet may never forgive you!

  • Hey Nutn, whats your opinion on the Veff serrations? I love how sharp they are but find them to be a little too delicate for my liking.

  • Dude. Beautiful knives.

  • thats sweet

  • @shysterlicious Get a cheaper "beater" knife you're not scared to thrash on, preferably less than 20 dollars.

  • My premonition has HORRIBLE blade retention as the ball on the lock and indent in the blade do not match up well. Other than that, had mine for months and love it. Since it is tip down the blade did not open up unless the flipper was pressed down some from bumping something.

  • @1IdeaAhead Sounds like a bummer, mine's been good so far (but not extremely positive) and can't be the value. I guess if the blade retention sucks best to be tip down.

  • To answer gunsmith411 the sog seal pups are a great choice for around 60-70 bucks. That's if you don't mind if it's made in taiwan.

  • Just pick one up and next to my kershaw breakout it's one of my favorite light edc knifes, but the kershaw allows tip up carry.

  • These CRKT's are definitely some sleek, sexy, and functional blades!

  • I've always loved the quick and solid click of a CRKT folder upon deployment. Mmm, that's good. : )

  • Anyone know if you get the black blade without the seration?

  • N-C-STATE!!!! NC STATE!!!!

  • Nutn what is an excellent survival knife that i can get for under $100 ive seen some that are in my price range 40-80 but they are just too short. can you plz help me out.

  • @gunsmith411 Cold Steel SRK

  • Bk9 is great too. Its all larger of a blade. Can do more in my opinion. I love em both

  • I love my Summa.

  • according to crkt the liners of the preminition are 2CR13 ..........nice review

  • @aguilanl 4 times? really?

  • Hi Nutn. i had premonition and i have to say i was very very disappointed. horrible blade play not fixable with pivot screw, horrible fit and finish and very weak handle construction. (bending under slight pressure). one way pocket clip didnt help either. and then i contacted CRKT i never got any reply. i was only lucky that amazon took my order back because i wasnt gonna keep such a poorly made piece... thats just my experience with it so take it for what its worth. i even have a video about it

  • nice just ordered a premonition

  • OOOOHHHH! Sexy Knives!

  • Good stuff, yet again, Nutnfancy! I just may have to get me the Summa!

  • The Premonition looks like a great "pocket change" blade. Although, that's usually where I carry my Victorinox. Hard knife to replace ;)

By the way, thanks Nutn' for yet another great review! I don't get the chance to comment very much but I ALWAYS tune in!

  • nevermind on last post. 12:20, thanks nutnfancy

  • how is the lock up on these knives? is there any play?

  • suma = the shark

    tuition = the whale

  • If you really want lightweight get a spyderco frn slipit, they weigh like 1.9 oz

  • Another great review...you set the standard!

  • Congrats, TNP! I have the Suma with the Veff serrations. I spotted it in Lowe's and it was on clearance for $19.97!! The cool design of the knife caught my eye immediately. It was the last one. Mine came sharp out of the package.

  • Thanks for another GREAT review. I ordered a Summa before I finished watching the vid. Got it today (along with an OSO Sweet, whicch also ROCKS!!!) and it is a beauty...very cool and sharp out of the box....they must be listening to you :).

  • Love the Summa, have the stainless finished and black serrated both. Super fast deployment. Sharpens up razor sharp fast with Gerber DF-6 clam shell sharpener with a few pull throughs.

  • Mine came razor sharp.

  • So, after 3 years, you really love blades . . . Will you one day shave yourself with straight razors, it will change your days and makes you enter in a whole world in itself for steels, history and self maintenance. Thanks for sharing your excitment, each time.

  • CONGRATULATIONS THREE YEARS OF TNP. keep up the excellent work.

  • Excellent knives. Starting three years of TNP -CONGRATULATIONS. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

  • keep up the good work!

  • real sweet. Premonition hits on a second kinda cool for me. ...

  • ★★★★★

    Cool looking knives!

  • CRKT Stubby Razel is one of the coolest blades on the planet. Yeah, they have plenty of misses, too. thx NUTN! (you too, Veri)

  • houston we have jimping!

  • Beautiful knives!

  • Love the crkt's , don't love those serrations , you will dislike them as well I promise you.

  • He should do the Home shopping network thing

  • Just got the last black Premonition at notjustknives. I would be lieing if I said I wasn't a wee bit excited to get it. Much appreciated Nutn.

  • assisted?

  • He doesnt quote msrp. He quotes street price. Get with it.

  • Check your pricing. Your quotes are way low according to CRKT web site. Otherwise, I like the knives.

  • love kershaw/Crkt feel like many of there products are vary comparable.

  • First knife I ever bought was a CRKT M16Z with the AUS8A blade steel. Absolutely hated it, CRKT has a long way to go before they regain my respect.

  • tech reviews for rednecks

  • just for your information, not dissing or anything but

blue on blue doesn't always work, there isn't much color contrast so the blue knife doesn't pop out, since there is so much background perhaps try a coyote brown or tan color, and as a plus it's a tactical color

  • i cant believe you whispered "Premonition" hahaha thats was awesome you need to do that more XD

  • i was not impressed at all at first. if they were at the price point of over $40 i lose interest in this blade but at $20 ish its definately a posibility but kershaw tremor is still ahead on the list

  • wow..like the Premonition and all the serrated ones are 2nd kinda kool for me.. too bad not sharp outta box. and would luv to get my 1st flipper design opener. If was sharp.. it would be a fight for my $ against the Kershaw Skyline. Plz post if have the Premnition and UR exp. having it. (Nutn mighta just gotten a dull one... and any1 w/ exp. trying to sharpen that odd (but kool) serration.. thnx

  • @Hhound wow.. $21 - 25?.. I googled for prices while watching.. and the CRKT 1166K was around $50 and the CRKT 1163k was 35 -40.... notjustknives be giving kool TNP prices.. and BTW.. got 2 Kershaw Scamps (razor sharp) from them.. no nonsense ordering, fast delivery, and decent shipping charges... just sayin' .. UR mileage may vary :)

  • @Hhound I just bought the premonition from notjustknives. com and paid $23.27 for the plain edge version. Shipping was a little steep at $6.60 but getting that awesome knife for under $30 total is a total win.

  • I wonder what Nutn even cuts on an edc basis? most all his blades looks unused.

  • @MrVegaslive If you had 1000's of knives most of them probably wouldn't have much wear either. :P

  • The black handle with serration looks cool for sure, but price wise the others make more sense. Thanks for the coverage of a variety of knives!

  • Off topic here but just asking. In Singapore here where knives are not always readily available for sale, is the Spyderco Tenacious worth SGD150? I've always wanted one but it seemed overpriced, but I doubt I can find another without ordering online where the shipping fee amounts to SGD50. Any suggestions?

  • @68529110 dude I am also from SG. Where did u find that kinfe from? I was about to get the AK47 (knife) does that shop carry that knife?

To answer your question, I think that the price is a little high but since it is so hard to get those stuff here, it might just be worth it.

  • @lt118 well its a shop in Funan Digitalife Mall, OMG SOMEONE FROM SG WHO WATCHES NUTNFANCY :D well if you're referring to the Cold Steel AK47 u might be out of luck, but if u r referring to the folding knife that is huge and looks a little like a bayonet, go try Caesars in Plaza Singapura or Raffles, alternatively if u r referring to the Cold Steel AK47 u can approach the staff at Caesars and ask them about helping u to import the knife, cuz if im not wrong they do help importing, worth a shot

  • @68529110 Thank you for that information man. n yes OMG never thought that another from SG watches TNP awesome stuff. Yes I was looking at the Cold Steel AK47. Again thanks for the info. Will check out those shops soon. Hope u will have a good day. :)

BTW Keep up the good reviews Nutn!

  • @ 9:41

    lololololololololol

    "That kina shcsucks!"

  • Hey thanks for pointing out another knife of good quality! thanks for the good old fashion review!

  • 5$ says jerry is a tnper :)

  • North Carolina State University!!! Woot Woot!!! Hometown Baby!!!

  • @MrAtrain556 Thank you for the suggestion MrAtrain556 I will check it out!

  • I like both, but that Summa is cool. I kind of think it's like a competitor to that Al-mar Eagle you have shown. I thought that looked like a great very lightweight tactical blade until I looked up it's price and.... no.

It's too bad they don't come sharp though. I have yet to decide on a knife sharpening system, and not sure when I do get it I'll be able to get them real sharp, so I prefer any knives to come very sharp out of box.

  • I'm definitely with you on the weight. I love how light the Flash 1 is. I noticed I've worn it to bed a couple of times even. Not at all that I wanted to or like thought I needed a knife to bed, I just would forgot it was there and find it in the morning!

The Skyline is always nice. A bit heavier but you get a nice bigger blade. My only complain is the pocket clip mounts way too low. It only gets acceptable when tip down mounted but even then I like high mounts.

  • Hey Nutnfancy just bought a CRKT off of Amazon because of this "Amazon Video". I plan on making my own review on the knife I bought and sending the video to you. I'll have to curse you for getting me addicted to knifes btw. lol Keep up the good work Fancy your #1 fan Drakegod84

  • Hey Nutn! Have you seen the CRKT Centofante tribute knife? I usually never like the looks of a wooden handle knife, but it would seriously look great as a gentlemen's edc

  • Yes you're right about the clip, Nutn. WIsh the designer was thinking about us left-handed peeps. Love CRKT though, great value EDC knives like thier Drifter" that I carry everyday. I abuse that thing so bad everyday and it looks back at me with these Raul the Poolboy seductive eyes and say... "Is that all you got?".

  • Sweetness, Nutn! I'm not real high on CRKT, but the more you drop talking point details on various reviews is shifting my mindset.

Kind of like the whipping sound, the whisper of "Premonition" will consume me. LOL!

Great work on the vid, as usual bro!

  • Ya know, I've got an old...OLD CRKT Mirage that I love. Still one of my go to EDC blades.

  • Ok the stupid ? I need a good folder with pocket clip around $100.

What should I get.?? Thank you for all your help.

  • @pshaw61 go spyderco

  • @tkrasick I will look into them Thank you.

  • @pshaw61 i have a caly 3.5 and a gayle bradley that are both badass spydercos, but a paramilitary or manix 2 would be good choices also

  • @pshaw61 There's like a million knives you should get, lol. It's all about personal preference. Head to your local knife shop and just start playin. Personally, I'm a huge advocate of SOG's Ach Lock.

  • @pock8size Well why would I do something smart like that! lol I will do that Thank you....

  • Hey Nutnfancy can you talk about the thickness and how flat these blades ride in the pocket? You seem to miss that a lot of times and it's really important to me. Thanks and great work!

  • Nice video to bad it's not ambi :(

  • I got my tremor today, absolutely love it! sharp enough to shave....

  • uhhhhhh, tactical Laguiole? French style hits TNP. Ooh-la-la! . They forgot the bumble bee locking button though ...

all kidding aside, I wish I could get a Laguiole for that price.

  • wow. nice lines on those blades. might give the skyline run for its money

  • Just bought a Summa. Bought the Ken Onion Ripple for my dad for Christmas, great knife but too much for too little for myself. The Summa costs just a little more then a crappy 440A store buy and is so much better

  • i got the summa 3 months ago and that thing is just awesome. i love the blade shape, the handle is very comfortable and opening it is fun too

  • Im trying to get work done but i cant cause you posted a video today LOL

  • Those knifes areeeeee wierd lookin

  • You are completely nuts, yet I cannot look away.

  • Finally gettin' into the CRKT's, huh, Nutn?

  • High Quality! Props nutin!

  • both founders of CRTK are former Kershaw employees.

  • nice blades, people should check out his page. very affordable. "McGinnis" is the correct spelling

  • £46 for the Summa here in the UK. We always get ripped off.

  • what a great salesman you are, nutn!

  • *whisper* premonition... Lol.

  • u r a nerd

  • i always carry my summa when i go to a formal event... it's a great gentleman's knife that goes well with dress attire and can function well for food prep and wont scare everyone around you.

  • What about the CRKT Ripple? Ken Onion's knife?

  • Nutn where are the flashlight reviews??

  • Hey nut'n you should definitely check out the CRKT Ikoma Sampa johnwaynecolt 45 has a review on it. I just got mine today, it seriously cool and the bearing system is crazy fast.

  • I love nutnfancy knife reviews! Thanks for keeping it real and telling us about the dull edge. To me that is a huge hit because the main thing a knife is for is cutting and slicing, so I don't think it should be a 9 out of 10 just for that reason. I think that is too generous of a score for a dull knife. A dull knife from the manufacturer is harder to resharpen than one that came sharp.

  • The CRKT Model 1166k looks like a freakin Mako Shark!

  • Crkt must be watching you.

  • YEEEEES! I knew it! Awesome

  • Hey nutn when you going to do a gun review?

  • Awesome knives!

  • OMG!!!! I would get the 2 versions of the premonition based just on how you whisper the name and these Veff-serations....They just speak to me...And after i watched the review i Will get them!!! Thanks again Nutn!

  • Love the delivery lately! Hi Nutn. Not a fan of this particular knife, but have to say it seems you are really beginning to have more fun with the vids. No doubt another "comfort" level has been reached. The 'on-camera' delivery displays a real "nutin-to-prove" attitude. Life must be good [to quote another youtuber." All the best to you and yours.

  • Your channel is awsome nutnfancy......keep it up.....just got the sp10 Marine Raider because of your channel and its a great knife, thank you nutnfancy

  • hey nutn, awesome blades, but why aren't you putting them vids out in 720p anymore?

  • @MATAtheFIRST It does take a long time to upload.

  • The serrations look sweet. I hope they work. I hope the tips wear well. I love my spyderedge serrations on my spydercos. I hope CRKT can compete.

  • @10:00 those serrated blades not being sharpened is a huge no-no! Most people will have no way (or very difficult) of sharpening that

  • Ken onion shenanigan

  • I got one of the ken onion first production, awesome!

  • Well, after you got me hooked on the new Kershaw blades coming out, I was just about to buy a Leek, but this Premonition may be taking it's place. Really digging the new "EDC under $40" videos. Of course, I see these as "gateway" knives into the bigger, more expensive, albeit fun larger blades. Keep up the good work sir, and thank you for your service, both to our country and to value minded consumers as well.

  • NC STATE FTW

  • the designer is 20 years old?! wow I'm expecting great stuff from him in the future :) such potential

  • If i got 4 of the same knife or even 2 my GF would kill me.

  • i for the moment like the ken onion crkt designs !! NUTN you as a kershaw fan really need to look for those designs ...

  • Thanks Nutn!

  • WTF Price?! In germany theese cost about 50€, wich is the equivalent of about $70!!!!! :( AND They are legal to own, but illegal to carry in an EDC capable way... one day I'm going to move to America.

  • @SadamSkywalker

was glaubst wie ich mich immer aufrege wenn ich die deutschen preise seh ?! :'(

der blöde import ist anscheinend so teuer...

  • @SadamSkywalker Just move to Austria, we are in Knife Heaven regarding the laws of carriage of knives.

Man kann alles tragen das nicht als Waffe konstruiert ist (zB Dolche und Ähnliches).

  • WTF Price?! In germany theese cost about 50€, wich is the equivalent of about $70!!!!! :(

  • @SadamSkywalker Yo bud do you live in Germany? If so please pm me more about knife rules in Germany. Thanks in advance.

  • I could find no info on the web, so i hope anyone knows the answer here. Do you just buy a knife? Like a cell-phone or anything else? You need no license?

  • @4elFROMEKB

Depends on your country. I've never heard of licenses for knives though. Here in the US you can order any knife pretty much on the internet.

  • @free2game

And you can just be going around with them freely? No policemen take them from you if you have no license for cold weapons. That's good. Too bad in russia these idiots can't even be certain about whether you need the license or not, every governmentual structure makes it's own rules. Bastards.

  • Love your enthusiasm in these knife reviews. Informative and entertaining. Thank you.

  • It would appear that the Summa is ALSO not available in a plain black blade..Do you have ANY idea why this happens w/so many knife companies?...The only thing I can think of is liability. Perhaps knife companies don't want something TOO tactical?..or is that a stretch?...I don't care for serrations and would purchase more knifes if they offered plain blades in colors...

  • Nice review.

  • It's funny that you would post this review today. I was literally JUST looking at a premonition at my local sporting good store. I ended up going with a Kershaw Skyline instead (which is a great blade, by the way)

  • I`ll buy both of them!! Awesome blades. Thanks for the vids

  • Nutn, every time I see you post a new review it always gives me something to look forward to! Man You Rock!! Awesome vids, Keep up the amazing work!

  • These knives doesn't have stop pin? So, they are holding in open position only with liner? Either up and down forces... In other knives liner should hold only "down" force.

    sorry for my english

  • I don't know.. I have a real sweet spot for Kershaw.. Sorry.... keepin it real!

  • Great video, how about a knife sharpening tutorial?

  • @WatariKashi theres already on

  • Thanks Nutn!

  • Summa really looks like a fixed blade

  • my goodness, bought the premonition in mid video, yup didn't even let it finish playing and the old pay pal was slappin the cash down. it might not be sharp outa box, but man that eye candy at that price point sure grabbed my attention. thanks nut'n.

  • There is only one blade. Buck 119 special. Done. Buck ftw.

  • Ill buy 1 American knife, instead of 2 Chinese knives. Its important to keep Americans working, besides their taxes keep Soldiers,Airman,Marines, and Sailors PAID for their hard work.....Just sayin.

  • @warmachine1770

welcome to 21th century, just sayin

  • I bought ripple from crkt and thats ken onion designed knife that knife also came dull and after some weeks usage that knife blade became loose and start rattling side to side so I sent it back to crkt they fix the problem but after few weeks of usage shit is rattling again not so happy about it seems like I will be spending more money on shipping versus what i pay to purchase that knife. WEAK!!!

  • Finlay more CRKT in TNP..

my taste is opposite of that classic l
