  • @AboniyeJones No shame! Same here. haaha!

  • @keena11226 No keena jumbie mean ghost and moco means fake so Moco jumbie means fake ghost. I'm from the caribbean and at carnival time the men mosty dress up and wear a mask. The stilts are meant to look like they are floating and it is very dangerous and takes years of practice but what a sight to see when they are dancing to the music. Its a tradition that we do in the caribbean. They are like say clowns on stilts.

  • My son loves this song but we can't listen to it when daddies home, this song is about they singing to the devil. Jumbie means devil .

  • My daughter loves this song!!! :-+

  • It is an African tradition carried over to Trinidad carnival Their costumes represent jumbies, or spirits, of African mythology, in Haiti the word jumbie was corrupted to zombie

  • I always thought Zombies were the living dead that Ate Human flesh... but now I know something new... thank you... you have expanded my mind...

  • mocko jumbie is the name of the dancer on stilts. usually seen during carnival in the west indies i.e Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados. In the cartoon, the boy is talking bout his father is a mocko jumbie and he wants to be a mocko jumbie like him during carnival.

  • this is the third version I've looked at on youtube and the first one that has decent sound--THANKS!

  • I'm not sure...is this Moco Jumbi dancing on stilts thing just for fun, or is there some sort of cultural significance to it?

  • There is a cultural reason for it. The Moko Jumbie represents the benevolent spirit Moko who watches over the village.

Look up the entire article on Wikipedia.

  • Oh....this Moko guy is a giant. That explains the stilts.

  • alot of cultural significance....surprised to see it on mainstream cartoon channel
